Yea. It’ll be better with the rug. There is a big sofa where we sit in front of the speakers. Also, the slatted wall has tamed down the room a fair amount.
:)
I would also think a rug will help. My first throught when I saw the pictures was that there were a lot of hard surfaces and the room would be rather lively. Nice to hear that the slat wall has helped.

Congrats on the speakers. Hopefully they live up to all your expectations of an end game purchase. Or at least I assume they are, given the price point on these! ;)

Does the game really ever end?? ;)

I have the SVTRS upstairs in the theater room. Those will be the last to go. I just don’t know of or heard any other speaker that can come close to the dynamics and pure effortless sound those speakers produce.

The family room has a big problem. It has a large, 3 panel glass sliding door. We plan on replacing the door next year but want to keep it open without any treatments as it goes out to the pool area. The room will get more acoustic treatments but they have to look modern. The family room faces the kitchen which got a modern facelift a couple of years ago so everything has to have a cohesive look.

Here they are in my family room setup. Currently powered by Bryston and ATI.

Description…

The 3-way UNRIVALED 8300/PX flagship tower speaker features RBH’s award-winning aluminum cone technology and easily outperforms tower speakers costing much more. The 8300/PX lets its listeners experience their favorite movies and music in a way never thought possible, until now. Remarkable full-range performance is provided by the aluminum cone 8-inch woofers and reference 6½-inch mid-range drivers and AMT tweeter. Dual rear-firing ports help the 8300/PX achieve its full-range response down to 25 Hz, and dual 5-way binding posts allow for increased performance through bi-amplification with a subwoofer amplifier such as DA-2602DSP

The improved construction and upgraded handmade crossover provides several key benefits over reference. The rigidity of construction ensures only the drivers are doing the talking and reduces cabinet resonance. This means there is less smearing and a more defined imaging stage. Due to the extra weight, transient response is also improved.

The crossover is comprised of hand selected parts and doesn't stray from the tried and true RBH tone curve. The high quality parts results in an enhanced sound that improves upon the already excellent imaging, soundstage characteristics, and transient response of the Reference version. Greatness is refined. This speaker is worthy of consideration for any 2ch hi-fi enthusiast.

Great looking speakers. How are the dynamics? How sensitive to positioning are they?

Sorry to give you a hard time....but why KK for the SVTRS particularly? The aesthetic?
It’s all good. :)

Really for the creamier, creamy mids and sparkling highs. :D

Just kidding. Gene recommended them and they measure like a properly built cable and wanted something different. Funny things is, for esthetics is ridiculous because you can’t see them behind the speakers. The cables are brown and lay on the brown wood floor. ‍

I’ll be honest. I got them last week. Rushed to set them up before going out on a trip. Haven’t really had too much time to play with them. I placed them where I thought would be a good starting spot and off they went. I got a nice string of days off coming up next month when I can play with them more and get them dialed in. Also searching for a rug as my wife didn’t like the one she ordered and back it went.
