Dolby True HD issue

This is actually my first post here after a long time of just browsing the forum, and I’m hoping someone kind of has an idea of what’s going on here.

I’ll try to be brief. For space reasons, I decided to rip all my DVDs and Blu rays to a hard drive and just dump the physical copies.

I have a 5.1 setup, and I have some older equipment, like a pioneer elite vsx92 receiver that I use just as a processor and I’m using an oppo BDP-103 as the player that I hook my hard drive to for all the movies.

So everything I ripped turned out fine,
Whether it’s DTS HD, or Dolby digital on older discs, my receiver decodes it just fine, except the few discs I ripped that have Dolby True HD on them, for whatever reason,
Dolby true HD just shows up as 5.1 PCM on the receiver, and on top of that, it’s putting out the same channel
In all five speakers(kinda like 5 channel stereo) I wanted to ask if anyone else has had this happen, and if so, how did they fix it? Thanks everyone for your time.

Not much experience with that but IIRC there are some audio file limitations doing it even that way.....are they particularly 5.1 TrueHD or 7.1 TrueHD ?
pretty sure every one of them was 7.1

I feel this may be something with the pioneer I’m using as a processor because I dug out an Arcam receiver I had stored away and tried it on that and it decodes it just fine, weird.

So when you play DTS-HD MA 5.1, your AVR shows "DTS-HD MA"?

But when you play Dolby TrueHD 5.1, your AVR shows "PCM"?

The problem might be the player's setting. Is there a setting in the player that says AVR is capable of TrueHD?

I play all my MKV files via my Windows PC Kodi software. I get 4K HDR ATMOS all the time.

Does that Pioneer 92 process HD audio tracks? I'm pretty sure you need the oppo do that.
