From your manual...
• If the Standby/On indicator lights (both red and blue LEDs)
several seconds or minutes after the sound output stopped,
this means that the amp protection circuit has been activated.
In this case, set the OUTPUT LEVEL control to the center
position, and disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet.
Wait at least 10 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord.
If that doesn’t solve the issue, contact your Onkyo dealer
Like TLSGuy said, that amp is cooked and will fail totally soon.
Best cable in the world won't help anything.
Not worth fixing unless you are a tech with nothing else better to do.
I gonna throw in one more probably "not at all whats going on" idea here.
Are your devices on different electricity groups? Are both connected to earth wires?
@Doondoons
It probably the realy last straw you can check before getting new sub. And like
@isolar8001 said. Fixing is not worth it unless you truly know about electronics and transistors and resistors and what not.
Anyways to give a side story to why I suggest this is because here in NL lot is grounded electronics. And things can be funky when it comes to grounded and not grounded or different groups. I had my amp kicking in protection before for no reason. Apparently it was some weird thing going with circuits or something. I not realy sure how to say in english. But this kicked in protection on amps. The other way arround I also had my amp turn off the breaker. This was fixed when I put all audio on same outlet.
Also I do not know this sub. So I not sure if protection can kick in cause of something like this.
But if they not connected to same wall outlets/groups you can always try see if it fix it or not to put them together.
