too funny, have you measure a '2x4' lately ? It's not 2 inches X 4 inches !
Yep nuts now a real 1.5 inches by 3.5 inches . Some FYI: The lack of resources forced a compromise because thinner 2x4s were a way to compete with these alternatives in the industry. In 1964, size standards, maximum moisture content, and naming were agreed upon. The nominal 2x4 thus became the actual 1-½ x 3-½ inch board.

Wow, I knew it was sometime back but forgot it was 'that' long ago !

I wonder if the recent surge in Liberal support is just temporary or will be sustained? I've been a Conservative supporter but I'm getting tired of the attack ads. I saw one 10 minute video on YT a week or so ago where Poilievre actually laid out some of his policies and his vision for the country. That's what I want to hear from leaders and it was a pretty good speech. Then it's right back to attacking Trudeau and Carney. It gets grating after a while.

Have you done any research on Carney's economic performance in Europe? I've only seen one interview so far with Liz Truss, former British PM, but that was by Lilley Unleashed of the Toronto Sun. I did come across this article on BBC:
Mark Carney: What legacy will he leave the Bank of England?

Carney did fine. He even saved the Irish government's finances when he wasn't even working for them.
Mark Carney’s ‘back of envelope’ idea paved way for Ireland to renegotiate bank debt – The Irish Times
I saw the Liz Truss thing. She is an imbecile.

For all his faults, I was a Mulroney voter. But, I couldn't bring myself to vote for the Harper Tories - I even spoiled my ballot, rather than vote for them when I also couldn't bring myself to vote Liberal. Poilievre is utter poison. I'll never vote Tory with him as leader.

I can't get past the paywall on that article but I hear ya. I can't think of any particular Tory that I would like to see in power right now. Sheer does not come across as any better than Poilievre. None of the other members of parliament stand out. I liked Harper at the start of his term but when he started manipulating the media and press conferences that really turned me sour.
