the United States is the first government in the history of the world that its foundation lays in the Constitution.
No, that would be San Marino, so far as I know.

Im well aware that the rest of the world and liberals are loosing their minds that the 2 foundational documents that over overrule every other law in America say what the government can do and what rights citizens have given by God that the government cannot take away. I fully recognize that at every turn people have been trying to chip away with this. They can suck a fatty, but this is America. The constitution in the Bill of Rights are the law of the land. Y’all are about to learn something today.
The rest of the world (and possibly some liberals) have constitutions too, so we are hardly loosing our minds over it.

And while many of them are younger than the US Constitution, it is likely just because they were replaced by newer constitutions.

Denmark for example has a younger constitution dated 1849, but it's largely based on a law from 1241 that opens with the phrase "The land must be build upon law." (In other words, this law also contained basic legal concepts, rights, etc.)

But do you feel that those (your/US) documents are respected by the Trump administration?

I ask solely because what I see on TV is Trump and the summoned press signing 40 executive orders and showcasing these to the cameras. I haven't seen much debate, voting, etc. about those topics, I just see a president who seems to enact whatever he pleases.

It could be me mistaken, absolutely. I'm a distant and casual observer. But to me, it *looks* more like an "elected dictator", than an actual governing body providing legislation based on simple majority votes within those governing bodies?

As I recall and am reminded by others that Hitler was democratically elected before he became a dictator, or whatever.

I don't believe so, but it's a commonly held misunderstanding. Nonetheless, you'll probably notice some similarities, sadly (apart from the nazi-saluting wingman and the standing ovations when he says anything). :/

First, he managed to get complete and unchallenged control of the political party he joined.

In fact, he (his party) came in second ("lost") in elections and the established government wouldn't really cooperate with him. But the parliament building was then set on fire, and Hitler blamed someone (else) for the arson. In this case communists.

Using that event, he persuaded the president to pass special regulations which reduced certain liberties and rights of German citizens. Hitler used this to eliminate political opponents, gaining more power.

With less opposition, he proposed the Enabling Act, which let the government override the constitution and granted the chancellor (president) powers to pass laws and enforce them without any parliamentary oversight.

I'm not suggesting Trump and Hitler are the same or have the end goal. It's just the "way of ruling" by signing executive orders without "the inefficiency of having the proposals/intentions run their due course in government feels similar.

This may be just a case of hair-splitting, but Hitler and other members of the Nazi party were elected to the Reichstag. Even though they did not have a majority of seats, Hitler convinced President Hindenburg to appoint him as chancellor. The Reichstag fire occurred a few weeks later and the rest is history.

Musk's blabbering amounts to, "I'm really rich which, by default, means I'm really smart."

And, from the stable genius:
The exchange ended with Mr. Trump telling Mr. Duffy that he had to hire people from M.I.T. as air traffic controllers. These air traffic controllers need to be “geniuses,” he said.

I got a kick out that comment. He has no idea what air traffic controllers do - a highly specialized fast thinking traffic cop requiring 3D awareness requiring to strictly follow very specified rules and verbiage. If he had ever bothered to listen in to the cockpit conversations of his personal plane pilots with the air traffic control he would have known.

MIT grads are scientists and engineers they think differently.

And, from the stable genius:
I'm not arguing with you, but FWIW here are the actual requirements (as of right now) for air traffic controllers:

>>>Individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications in order to be eligible for an Air Traffic Controller position:
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be under the age of 31
  • Pass a medical examination
  • Pass a security investigation
  • Pass the FAA air traffic pre-employment tests, including the Air Traffic Controller Specialists Skills Assessment Battery (ATSA)
  • Speak English clearly enough to be understood over communications equipment
  • Have one year of progressively responsible work experience, or a Bachelor's degree, or a combination of post-secondary education and work experience that totals one year
Less than 10% of all applicants meet these requirements and are accepted into the training program. <<<

I'm not saying this criteria is perfect, that it can't be modified, etc.

Trump and Musk don't qualify due to their age, but I can't help but wonder how many of the other criteria they would fail.

My point is - and I may be wrong - people don't go to MIT because they want to become air traffic controllers.

And, MIT grads would not work for what controllers get paid, most likely.

That guy is clueless, hence all the garbage he spews.
