Everyone needs to chill out with the insults.

The Democratic party fumbled badly this year. They sat on Biden's decline for far too long, and propped up an unlikeable candidate praying identity politics and the media's phyops machine could push her through the finish line. I think the bottom line for most voters was, the economy has not been good the past few years and historically when that's the case, the party running the show gets replaced.

Both parties hopefully will come out swinging in 2028 with some fresh faces and policies.
Exactly. The markets reacted positively because Trump is predictable not because of his policies.

I would suggest that markets rose based on the prospect of further tax cuts and hobbling - if not outright dismantling - of regulatory agencies, neither of which will be of much benefit to those just getting by. Too soon to say for sure...

I’m sure that has a part in it. I view regulation/deregulation like a pendulum, we need balance

Screw you. However, lots of Republicans behave like a$$holes in front of a mic.
Bizarre statement. The "On Trump" thread has been running for nearly four years. Sometimes too much fun, but consistent examples of Trump's a$$holery. Links are provided. Evidence. In total I've been watching Trump's behavior since 2015 or 16. I've never thought of him as anything but an a$$hole, and consistently so. He's the gift that keeps giving. He opens his mouth, and it's a field day for the liberal media. To know that the vague "lots" of Republicans behave like a$$holes means all my Trump OCD was for nothing. Trump is no more an a$$hole than the average Republican, or past president. Cause they all equally behave like this. Without any evidence of such. My time and effort must be in the thouands of examples via videos, articles, snippets etc. I'd like to laughingly call myself an "expert," not as a psychologist, but as an idiot Trump OCD with the breadth of examples I can recite these past 8-9 years of his a$$holery. All gone now in your one sentence. truck me LOL.

Well, the thing is, there's nothing that says a felon can't be elected. It's a popular talking point, but it's not in the Constitution (Article II, Section I)- "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

They can be removed for crimes committed during their time in office, though.

Thats my point. There is nothing in the constituion that prevents criminals from running? Does that not sound like this issue needs to be addressed?

As I have posted, I have no candidate in the current parties and I don't vote based on the party. That said,

Look at the vote totals- in 2012, Obama received about 66 million votes to Romney's 61 million, in 2016, Hillary Clinton received a bit under 69 million votes to Trump's roughly 63 million, in 2020, Biden received more than 81 million votes to Trump's 74 million. This time, Trump received more than 71 million votes to Harris' 66 million (all totals are approximate, rounded up or down appropriately).

If Harris is such a transformitive and historic candidate, why didn't she win? The only thing the polls and most of the media news heads got right- it was going to be a close race. They were wrong about most of the rest.

Trump is a turd as a person, but the difference in their platforms was completely ignored by people who couldn't stop dumping on him for that. I saw very little from anyone here about his platform, it was all about his lack of character, his obnoxious personality, his inability to STFU/inability to think while he speaks, his 2nd grade vocabulary, his convictions.......

44% of Males voted for Harris, so it's really not a sign of misogyny, although I would think that some who voted for Trump don't like her for being a woman. Only 12% of Blacks voted for him, but the total number of Black voters hasn't been shown yet- regardless, the ratio of Whites to Blacks is high enough that she may not have won if ALL Blacks had voted for her. It doesn't specify who 'Other' is, but he got 53% of their vote. She sure didn't get as much of the Asian vote as she might have wanted, at 56%.

OK, Trump is an asshole but how do you think Harris would handle the most difficult problems and situations around the world? Biden clearly didn't handle things well and his being ushered off to get ice cream doesn't show the US in a good light, so other leaders have done whatever they wanted- I doubt she would be able to get them to change their ways. Putin, Kim, Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah/Venezuela, etc are beyond her abilities and experience. The thing she denied as a problem, the Border, she almost completely avoided. Once she was a candidate, the Economy and the Border became issues that she would fix. She said Biden was doing a great job on these for 3-1/2 years and then, she said she planned to fix them. THAT'S one of the reasons she lost- people don't like flip-flopping. She pandered. They all do, but when it's done as identity politics, it's not what the country needs. For her, it was all about feelings and feelings WILL be hurt by every candidate, at some point.

You're throwing generalities around- how, specifically, will the states be destroyed?

The US has problems that need fixing- there was far too much bitching about personalities and not enough meaningful dialog about what this country needs- it was more about making people angry and not about finding common ground and yes, there is common ground, even between people who hate the 'other side'.
Immigrants in Springfield eat their pets? The continuous racial slurs by that asshole is going to cause a division between the uneducated white masses and people of different ethnic groups. Wait and see. America has voted in the head of the KKK.

To be more precise he has flirted with the alt-right. Meaning he was conscious of what he was doing.

Maybe that was intentional. Thousands of years of human history and you can probably count on one hand the number of effective leaders that were “good”. While we all want leaders of high moral character that’s just not the historical norm. People generally want someone who they feel can get the job done while keeping them relatively safe.

Anyway there’s zero argument over whether Kamala or Trump has better moral character and they both suck. I think Americans stepped back and thought which one could actually bring home the bacon. Facing N Korea, China, Russia and several other evil dictators I don’t think most people felt Kamala had what it takes.

So Trump being Putin's bed puppet is going to successfully handle Russia? Trump doesn't have what it takes. He's not interested in you the American people. He's interested in obtaining power and status.

The US is without argument the most powerful nation on earth. Being the most powerful nation on earth and acting as the world's police has some serious responsibilities that go with it. Trumps track record in 2016 run was abysmal at best, especially with international relations. Lest we forget Russia's involvement in your elections. So we know that Trump isn't capable of anything but self interest. The American voters who voted Trump in voted for their own personal gain, not what's best for the country or for the world. How can they? Most of them look inwards to the US only and have no understanding of the world around them. Absolutely clueless. The Republicans conveniently forget or dismiss its world responsibility. The US keeps shouting Freedom is a God given right (which its not. Freedom is a God given responsibility...big difference there) and yet Trump is the first to throw Ukraine to the wolves and let a truly oppressive autocrat take over another country. Trump's regime, his henchmen, and the Republican party are nothing but lying hypocrites.

The Russian collusion stuff was all made up, don’t forget about the Steal Dossier that Hillary Clinton created and was fined by the FEC over. Tons of countries try to influence other nations elections, this is totally normal whether or not anyone likes it. Come back with a new conspiracy theory, this one is dead

That was AG Barr’s misrepresentation they reported on.

Here is what the judge deciding on the release of the Müller report said. Have a read.

>>>In his opinion Thursday, the judge said he struggled to reconcile Barr’s public characterizations of the report — which included his statement that Mueller found “no collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia — with what the document actually said.<<<

Did I write that he would do a better job? Who the eff knows what he'll do?
By questioning her ability to deal with other world leaders, your statement suggests that Trump could do better, or no worse, at least. If that isn't what you intended to suggest, can you clarify what your point was?

What? The finding concluded there wasn’t even enough evidence to open the investigation and furthermore found no evidence of collusion. On top of that 7 people were convicted of obstruction for an investigation that didn’t have enough evidence to have even been started. That is weaponizing the DOJ and it’s sick.

LOL, weak pulse perhaps ? I see no way the Dems polish up a turd and send it back out in '28. They can piss and moan all they want about Trump yet they need not look any further than the mirror in front of them.............
