Lets dumb it down for you:
Imagine a worst driver ever with a long history of wrecking cars. So now because many lies this driver gets to drive world’s best car and of course he wrecks it too, but instead of fixing it he just covers up the damages best he could. Now comes an experienced mechanic and starts working on fixing the car, but the friends of bad driver keep interfering. So the mechanic does pretty good job, but alas car is so wrecked and interfering was also major that he can’t fully fix it in time.
And here comes you saying- hey look the car still isn’t perfect.
To continue the analogy, the old mechanic retires and names somewhat new but promising apprentice. But you and your buddies says, nah f the apprentice. Let’s give the car again to worst driver ever and “see what happens “ the second time.
Repeating same mistake but expecting a different outcome. I feel like there’s a term for that…
