Looking for band suggestions

I'm trying to find some new-to-me bands to expand the variety of my library

My favorite bands are

Grateful Dead and Dead and Company
Dire Straits
Crosby, Stills, Nash including or excluding Young
The Moody Blues
Later Beatles
Jefferson Airplane
The Kinks

I also like singer/songwriters like
James Taylor
Gordon Lightfoot
Al Stewart

I have some greatest hits from Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd , Steve Miller, but don't think I'd go beyond that.
I have some vinyls of Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, ELO but never bothered to get the CDs

I don't really like Led Zeppelin too much. Never much liked the Rolling Stones. I've tried some Phish and Goose but they are a bit too edgy for me.

Given my tastes any suggestions on bands or musicians I should look at to expand my library?

Any suggestions I'd sample on YouTube so any suggestions appreciated.

How about Cat Stevens as another singer/songwriter. America has great songs. Paul Simon With or without Garfunkel. Jimmy Buffet. Looks like you’re not into prog rock or the blues or heavy metal. As a Dead fan there are a lot of jam bands that follow in their footsteps like the Dave Matthews Band. I love Little Feat too. I know you’re not into steaming but these older bands have a lot of used CDs you can checkout. Good listening!

3 Dog Night, CCR, Yes, Jethro Tull, John Mayall, T-Rex, Ten Years Later, Cream.
Do you not love Pink Floyd? I figured you like psychedelic rock. Also, Yardbirds, 13th Floor Elevators, Big Brother and Holding Company, and The Zombies.

Some of those I do have. Cat Stevens, Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel, Little Feat.

Dave Matthews I want to try out. I thought he was great when he joined Dead and Company last fall on All Along the Watchtower at Boulder.

Thanks

That's a nice list. I do have a lot of Pink Floyd that I forgot to put on my initial list.

Seriously, I have no life.
Since you like the Grateful Dead, check out Jazz Is Dead.

Now that I found a way to send any audio from my computer to my NAD I'll listen to these. It will be Bluetooth but only for sampling purposes.

I like Dave’s cover of “watchtower”.

If you can get the BD of Dave and Tim Reynolds’s live at radio city, I don’t think you’d be disappointed at all. It is acoustic without the band, but it’s very well played and recorded. I like some of these versions better than with the band.

I've sampled some Phish on Youtube and what I've sampled didn't really do it for me. Lack of a nice melody I guess is what my reaction was.

But I suppose I should give it a second chance. Same with Goose.

Interesting. Lyrically Trey and his writing partner Tom are kind of all over the place. But I am surprised by your thoughts on a lack of nice melody. Good luck in your exploration.

I think the name of that band is Ten Years After, I love the song I'd love to change the world. :)

Can you suggest a special song or two I would listen to?

A Space in Time is one of my all-time favorite albums. TYA does get much love but Alvin Lee was an amazing guitarist.

Enjoyed their music, and if you liked them Alvin Lee, their guitarist and appears leader for a while, has some very nice LP's when he went solo,, he passed back in 2013.
