AVM70 (8K) not outputting video from HDMI (out 2) or HDMI ( zone2 out)

I have a TV and a projector and for now it looks like I am getting video output only from HDMI (out 1 earc). I want to connect both the TV and Projector
Is there any specific setting to get output from both
NOTE: I do not intend to have both the projector and TV on at the same time, just don't want to swap the cable back to HDMI 1 everytime

Thanks

That is because the other HDMI sockets are INPUTS ONLY. You will need an HDMI switcher. The problem is that I'm not sure if they will pass a signal from eArc. Do not keep plugging and unplugging the HDMI sockets. They are very fragile and you will damage the socket. The you will have a very expensive repair to replace an HDMI board.

eARC is intended to get audio back to an AVP or AVR and is not intended for your purpose.

I am plugging the TV and projector to the HDMI outputs not the inputs. No issue with the 7 HDMI inputs
Just want to see if there is a setting where video output is available on both HDMI outputs

I thought you were trying to get output from the TV. You must be having what is known as an HDMI EDID conflict, if you have got those HDMI outs activated in the set up menu. If there is an EDID conflict then your best solution is an HDMI switcher.

How do you activate the HDMI outputs through setup. I did not see any option for that

Both should work, there is no setting that I could see. Are you sure the HDMI cable you use on output 2 is not defective? If HDMI output 1 is working, plug the same cable to HDMI output 2 and if it still does not work then you need to contact Anthem support.

The cables are not defective as the projector and TV work if connected to HDMI 1 (earc out). I have posted the same issue with anthem support and they asked me to check firmware and I have the latest one
Currently working with them and I will update on findings. Thanks to all

This is odd. I have checked my Marantz units and you have to select the HDMI out. My guess is that most likely those non working HDMI outs are not connected. I say that as they would not all be connected at once. That is because of EDID conflicts.

So I would say that they are either dummy outputs, or not engineered correctly. I suspect you will have to use and HDMI switcher connected to the eARC.

What is the TV model? Projector model? Tried TV connected to HDMI OUT2 with nothing connected to HDMI OUT1? Just projector connected to HDMI OUT2 with nothing connected to HDMI OUT1? Projector connected to HDMI1 and TV connected to HDMI OUT2?

So after consulting with anthem support I did the following steps as recommended by them

1. Connect only TV to HDMI1 out >> worked
2. Connect only TV to HDMI2 out >> worked
3. Connect Projector to HDMI1 out and TV to HDMI 2 >> worked

Probably there was some communication issue or handshake problems

Good it worked as I was not ready to buy a HDMI switcher after shelling out 4K for the AVM70 processor

Thanks to all

HDMI OUT 2 can be a tricky thing on any processor/receiver. Often, the HDMI OUT 2 port is not equally specced with the HDMI OUT 1 port, aside from ARC/eARC. Even when equal, a mismatch of monitor specs means output limitations on HDMI OUT 1 or no output at all from HDMI OUT 2.

I'd be willing to bet a difference in specs between the TV and projector is the reason for the issue here. I'd look at the incoming signal from the source device viewed on the TV using HDMI OUT1 and then also with the projector using HDMI OUT1. Do they match? A lesser specced display can ruin output for the other display depending on the ports used to connect each. HDMI OUT Zone2 is another can of worms.

This from Anthem support

Hello Sharath,
EDID can be a nightmare to troubleshoot. Sometimes it requires a box that caches the EDID information.
We don't cache EDID like some other brands we use a method called fast switching.
