Polk elite es15's Love EM

I purchased these Es 15's for my rear channel home theater setup couldn't be happier for the excellent sound. First time I've had any Polk speakers, I have a medium size bedroom and they are more than enough, Hi res Tweeters are excellent!! After a little tweaking of my EQ the bass is pretty impressive also. I have them mounted on the wall so I'm sure the bass response is being muffled a bit but still yet they sound great considering they are on the smaller side with only 5.25 inch woofers. I have the Polk monitor 40's as my front and a Klipsch rp250c for my center channel, I'm saving now to upgrade my subwoofer and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the SVS pb-1000. If anyone has a better suggestion please let me know but they seem hard to beat and I love that they have an app to control all the settings for the sub, I'm a paraplegic so that works perfect for me because even when in my wheelchair it's hard to get down and reach the controls on the back of a sub to tune it. Thanks for any suggestions

Hey welcome to Audioholics!!!! Good job on those speakers! Polk is a nice brand. Honestly with your physical needs that is like the perfect sub for you because you can control everything from the app. Especially when setting it up. Do you know what your room size is? That's the only thing that might affect my recommendation is if the room is too big for the sub.

Yea I thought I was entering the giveaway by posting this here lol, I'm brand new to this platform, it's not actually a subwoofer review though they are Polk's elite series bookshelf speakers. About my room size it is roughly a 15 by 12 not insulated but I've added some 2 inch thick foam sound proofing panels throughout. I wasn't expecting much but by doing that it made a huge difference, I also put some dynamat squares behind the Polk's since they're wall mounted and I think that helped to get all the sound directed forward and made the bass sound tighter

Yeah you did well treating that room that makes a huge difference. In that room size that PB 1000 should be a monster. I can't think of a better option for you.

Hey thanks for your response! Nice to meet you! The room is roughly a 15 by 12 not insulated but I have added some 2 inch thick foam sound proofing panels and surprised me how big of a difference it made and like it said I also put some dynamat squares behind the Polk's and it made the bass seem less boomy and tighter. Since my accident movie watching and music listening is 90% of my life, I have a great family and great care just not a lot of opportunities to get out much. I'm paralyzed from my chest down so I need help with everything it's very annoying and beyond irritating so I thought it was essential to have a good quality sound system and TV. I've slowly created my own little theater in my room and it has helped me tremendously. There's nothing like watching a good action movie with true surround sound. Just need that good subwoofer to complete the set up. I have a 10 inch Yamaha it's ok but not enough ummf for my liking. Again thanks for the tips and response

Hey Lovin do you know any way he can move this thread over to a better section like Subwoofers or General AV. I think there is a way I just don't remember how. That way more of the guys could get to know him and offer him some more suggestions

It's very nice to meet you. I came into home theater like you after I had a life changing event too. Im bipolar and I had a head injury that sent me full blown manic and really messed up my life at that point. One of the things that helped me the most in getting better was music and movies and like you I fell in love with audio and home theater and it's been a blessing ever since.

Another suggestion if you do start a thread, is make the title more reflective of what you're seeking....and more details of your entire setup/room would help, too. You might be able to delete your own thread?

Yeah bro that Yamaha sub has got to go Lol. That PB 1000 will take your bass to a whole new level
