Alan Arkin has passed. He's been a favorite of mine for a very long time. RIP.

Sad news. It took the news that he died to remind me that he won an Oscar for his portrayal as the grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine.

If you haven't watched that gem of a movie (2006), run out and find it. The first half hour can be a bit tough to watch if you can't tolerate dysfunctional families. Just wade through that, with the promise that it gets much better. I won't reveal any spoilers.

That is a fantastic movie! He had a summer home here in Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island.
