Yamaha RX-A3080 Random Video & Sounds Issues

Hi All,
My RX-A3080 is playing up & the technician is unable to replicate the issues (Murphy’s Law).
The setup is quite simple as follows:
1. AppleTV (Latest 4K) Plugged into HDMI 1
2. Video out to Samsung Series 9
3. Speaker configuration 5.2.1 All Yamaha speakers & SVS Sub
Issues:
A. 84V static from chassis, seems to be fixed after first warranty service
B. Random loud (like max volume) blast of sound (distorted) first occurred on ceiling speaker, second time was the front left. Thought the speaker was going to pop, scared the crap out of me & the dogs. First service couldn’t replicate the issue
C. Video randomly distorts or no signal. First service couldn’t replicate this either.
D. Had the amp back for a week, both video & sound issues continued, so returned it to where I bought it, but they can replicate the issues

I’ve attached videos & pics of the issues, curious if anyone has seen these issues or any advice you could give would great

ps. AppleTV & Samsung TV work perfectly without the amp.

How did it get 84 volts on the chassis? That has probably done untold damage. Try a hard reset, but I bet that unit is basically a dud. It should have been replaced.

No idea, had my electrician do the test after I got zapped a couple of times. Tried hard reset same issues. That’s what I think too - thanks for your reply

Yamaha advised the following.

Technically, it's called leakage current and is unavoidable in a Class II unit. It's a bit hard to read, but voltages of up to half the nominal line voltage (240 VAC in Australia) is not uncommon.

However, the important parameter is current, not voltage. A current exceeding 30mA can create a hazard. Any of our YACSs should be able to perform this test to see if there is excessive leakage current.

It would be worth getting the unit to one of our authorised service centres to just check to make sure the leakage current is within normal parameters. We should not dismiss it at all so getting tested is the best way to make sure if any further action is required.

The rep is not wrong, but 30 ma is too high, if you get that much leakage cutrent, it is not normal. At such high leakage current level, a GGCI breaker would have tripped!!

Wires are all good. I’m familiar with puppies being very destructive. My dogs are well past that stage - thankfully

I think that unit is a dud. I would replace it.
