Hi all,
I recently hit about $3000 at the casino and am willing to spend around $1500 on my theater system. I currently have a plethora of random parts but I like the way they sound together and was able to get most of the speakers at good prices. My question is, with the $1500, (give or take $200), what would be the best thing for me to upgrade? I currently have kef q300 mains, b and w 686 s1 surrounds, a Polk psw50 sub, and am using a single nht absolute zero as a center. I'm using a denon avr- s500bt as a receiver. I know it's a weird setup, but I listen to 95% music, so the matching of the speakers in the surround sense isnt too concerning. The setup will be in a relatively small room (think college dorm suite lounge). Things I have thinking about doing are 1) upgrading the receiver, as I find that I lose some clarity at higher volumes 2) upgrading the mains to kef ls50s and moving the 300s to surrounds 3) obviously upgrading the sub to something like an svs or Hsu or 4) moving the 300s to surrounds and adding a couple of q900s as mains. Additional suggestions are very welcome, and in a best case scenario, I would like to upgrade multiple components. My goal however, is to improve the sound as much as possible on that budget for
