There much a point in having a VPN if you have to disable it all the time to enter websites? Or am I doing something wrong with the settings?

Depends what you want to shield or access I suppose. I did find some sites ask more scutiny when using one....everyone gets smarter with stuff like this I suppose. Many sites do ask more of you via vpn but it has its uses.....I just use the one that comes with my security package for little additional cost....

I know it's an old post that someone brought up, but what VPN are you using that gets detected?

A good VPN should not be detected by a website.

I used to have the Nord VPN, but it didn't do the job it was supposed to do. The company is located in Panama.

Then I switched to the Malwarebytes Privacy software which I like and adequately protects. By the way, Malwarebytes also have a Premium Anti-malware/virus software which I've been using for about 15 years. I recommend it without any hesitation. Malwarebytes is a reliable American firm.

Most VPN providers get their block assignments ACL'd out by services such as Netflix and Amazon.

They are well known.

I setup my own personal VPN at Digital Ocean and have been undetected for years now.

I don't remember the name of the VPN but my security software has online protection with it. So it didn't make sense to have both.

@Dude#1279435 why don't you keep your VPN on?
Because I had to keep turning it off for sites that were not a risk (ie not porn LOL). Can't remember the name of the VPN but there were two dials for turning it on and off. As if for two different functions that were confusing and maybe conflicted with one another. Now I just used the online shield in my security software LOL.

Nord VPN is not a reliable product. I used it for awhile and I noticed that, while I had changed the country IP address to US, it still indicated that I was in Canada. I flushed it and replaced it by the Malwarebytes Privacy which is offered by a reliable US anti-malware/virus software provider. I am very pleased with it.

I've used Private Internet Access for years and it's been great. It is blocked by streaming sites though, but I don't use it for that.
