Keep my PSA TV182+ dual HSU VTF-15H (v1) or go with dual PSA TV1812s instead (with a 3rd one way in the future)?

Hi!
So I added a TV1812 to my subs and love the extra deep reach from it. I am also using dual VTF-15H (version 1) all next to each other basically and I am not seeing, at least on REW, any negative effect to the freq response when the HSUs are on.
But I was thinking on selling the two HSUs and adding a 2nd TV1813(newer model of my PSA).
Not sure if that would be an upgrade overall...2 subs vs 3 or not worth it.
Thoughts?

With your Subs all gathered together in one place, you are not getting any benefit of multiple low frequency sources as they are considered Colocated and thus operating as a single source.
That there are no phase issues between the different designs is nice. Not everybody is so lucky.

I think the answer to your question is more one of personal values and what you plan to do with them in your room.

If it were me, I would do a minimum of two subs and find the two best places in the space to get a more even Bass response across the seating area. If you add a third, then placing that in a third best location will improve Bass response further still.

You could try it with the Subs you have since they aren't creating any Phase problems, seemingly, though that may change as you separate them.

Again, it is your room and up to you about how you choose to tackle the situation. ;)

Are you sure you are getting extra deep reach from the TV1812? Because the VTF15H has a legitimate 16Hz port tuning frequency. I wouldn't be surprised if that is lower than the TV1812.

Would love to see the measurements of Hsu vs PSA in your room....

I'd still just love to see good third party measurements of PSA, period.

I'm not questioning Tom's reputation, but learning how his Subs truly behave is important to being a consumer. :)

There are some models on data-bass.com....

But would love to see the in-room difference between the Hsu and PSA or a comparison...or whatever we can get the OP to offer up!

I thought those were older models... Is Josh back at it and has some of the new gear?

Just double checked... those are older models from 2012, 2014 and 2016!
Ricci hasn't posted a test since 2019.

Have the subs evolved that much at PSA otoh? Josh has been out of action for a while....on that site at least.

At least for the newer 18 and 21" options, they are all using B&C Drivers, now.
The models tested on DB were all 15s. on a quick glance, all Josh says about the Driver is "proprietary to system."
The 15 I just looked at on PSA looks like one of the B&Cs and they are claiming F3 at 14 Hz. All of Ricci's GP Measurements were rolling off by 30 and looked -10 by 18Hz, roughly...

That's a pretty sizable difference!

Here is a single TV1812 in my 16x14 with 9 foot ceiling open floor plan.

I used to have a VTF15H and its a great sub for the price, but the PSA is a whole other level of ULF and mid-bass TR.

Thank you for doing the reading I obviously lazed out on :)
