Well, my wife would not let me get away with that in the living room. It is a great set up, but as you know the acoustics may not be optimal, even so I bet it gives a good account of itself. I think you are tolerating us decontaminating you from Audiophoolery that is prone to part you from large quantities of money without accruing any benefit. I think we can continue to contribute to your domestic harmony in that regard. My wife would certainly not let me get away with your system in the living room. However, she does not put up with bad sound. She would never tolerate a sound bar. In addition she likes to have a system she considers hers, but places pretty stringent design restrictions. An absolute design criterion was that it take up zero floor space. However those challenges, I actually enjoy.
So this is her system in the living room. She always refers to it as "her system". She actually continues to be ecstatic over it.
We are fortunate that in all our houses I have had my room and my system. That is not quite true as we do entertain in that room, and the older grandchildren love to bring their friends over. So it is not my exclusive domain, but I have pretty much a free hand with it. The equipment has been bought over 60 years plus now, so it also is cutting edge, some would say bleeding edge, and a museum.
I get a pretty free hand there, but it can't be a mess, she insists on a certain wow factor.
The in this last house we have an "our" system.
That is a nice cozy space in the winter.
I guess there are many roads to domestic harmony, the trick is to avoid the ones that lead to the divorce courts.
