Audio settings with new receiver

Okay,
I do not. But can’t you download one on your phone though?
And so I should be setting my center and fronts to Large. While changing my configuration to where I have no sub and double bass turned off. Correct?
If you turn Double Bass off with NO for the Subwoofer setting, disconnect the LFE cables altogether as they will not be sent a signal now anyway. Double check your wiring as the Large setting that came in for the height modules seems really wrong. I’d set the bouncers(height modules) and surrounds to Small at about 100-120Hz. Whatever dB meter you choose, set it for dB-C and try to hit 75 on all channels.

What would you do if you had my setup?
would you leave the sub configuration on? With double bass on? Or would you get not have a sub configuration?
I have noticed with the pioneer receiver it only lets to set one crossover. Not for each individual speaker. Which I find weird. Because you can do this on an Onkyo.
In regards to my height Atmos speakers I have them like 8 inches from the ceiling about my tv. Not on my towers.
Btw…. What’s dB-C?

Only change one thing at a time. So download a sound meter to your phone, change the settings so the center is large, then raise the volume in the center so it matched the volume of the left and right, don't change anything else yet.
Thank you! Will give this a shot.

did it work?
It sounded better. Still quite. I feel like I will need an Amp to send more power to these speakers.

but…. I’m returning this Reciever. The handoff and switching inputs is awful. Especially, when you can’t get into the settings randomly. It always says please wait…
I’ve was reading that this is a common issue with the LX505 Elite. Even with its most recent update.

The subwoofer configuration should be set to OFF. You don't have any subwoofer! Setting it to On complicates the whole low frequency in that it creates a crossover for a sub which doesn't exists and cuts low frequency output to your speakers.

Read your manual.

OK, better to take it back while you can. Post if you get another one, good luck

I ended up getting the AVR-X3700H. The loudness still sounds about the same it seems like to me. But picture quality seems better on the denon than the pioneer.

I ran audyseey and it kicked back some weird numbers.

OK, I use audyssey on my marantz. As for numbers they are based on your room, do you have the proper angles for all your speakers per dolby recommendations? Front channels at 22 to 30 degrees, surrounds at 90 to 110 degrees? Is the tweeter of your center channel at the same height of your front left and right speakers?

I’m very limited for my speaker placement unfortunately. The main wall has has been pre-wired with the house. I’m trying to post a picture….

That's fine, you can move your listening position forward or backward to get the angles you need.

Nice job kepeing the center channel in line with the main speakers. I am pretty sure you need to bring the MLP forward to get the angles correct. The other thing is the front height channels should be over the L-R speakers.
MLP…?
Does this configuration look right?
LFEs cables plugged in are.
My -center and towers. The towers are connected to a way splitter.

now… if I switch my settings to no subs. Then it will automatically default my fronts to large and I can’t change them.
But the center channel does have the LFE 8inch bass radiator on top of it. The towers have two 10inch bass radiators as well.

I have to like turn it up to like -18DB for it to punch I guess.
Hi Aaron,

Just to clarify, now that you’ve calibrated the system and nothing has changed, what you’re experiencing with the above quote is a feature, not a bug. It’s a relative volume scale, usually relative to an industry defined reference level. Also, IME, -18DB is about where things start to get fun

You have no subs. No LFE cables are to be used and the LFE setting should remain OFF until the time you get a sub to connect.

So why do they put the LFE ports on the center channel and the towers?
