We had a tornado warning issued last night..Here's a pic of funnel cloud forming about 15km from my home

I don't miss the threat of Tornadoes every year. After leaving the Midwest in '98 and getting to San Francisco, there was a very rare Tornado in a neighboring community just South of the City, only two weeks after we got there. We joked that it followed us from home!

Of course we traded that threat for the San Andreas Fault...

That's nuts. We sort of get them around here, but not like they do north of where I am. It gets worse the further north you go.

I thought you meant politically and wondered how far away could it have been before?

What's the usual frequency of tornadoes up that way? When I lived in Illinois (near Chicago) it was more just a possibility, saw a funnel cloud close once....but seems I've seen more reports last few years up your way, too.
