How Many Subs Do You Use?

I found going from 1 to 2 subs made the bass in my room much more clear and enjoyable. I am thinking about moving up to 3 or 4 subs. I have a well treated medium size listening room. Can anyone share their experience who uses more than 2 subs please? Thanks

I use three subs currently. Each one has helped to smooth my FR and allowed for more headroom. Imo three or four subs seems to be the ideal although I’ve seen systems with eight or more 15” and 18” subs. Jus because I guess! FWIW Imo starting with high quality linear powerful subs goes a long way to a better experience as well.

I’m in the middle of recalibrating my system, but that was my last sweep.

I built two custom subs and don't regret it. There is a tremendous difference when only one is on so two should be a minimum requirement. Large rooms probably need 4 and there's a ton of info online about all that.

2 Outlaw x-13 subs on the sidewalls of an 11x15 room (~2000cu.ft.), asymmetrical placement.

Slow work in progress will be 3 DIY dual 15" Subs.

WOW! Well done, I really like how you elevated the center channel so the tweeter is in line with the mains. So many people neglect doing that and hope their room correction straightens it out. Is the screen hiding behind those curtains in front? Looks awesome!!

That was before the screen was installed. Here is the after:

In case anyone asks, the subs do not shake the screen, at least not enough to be noticeable. I wanted three identical towers across the front but the center channel was almost $800 cheaper than another tower and I had to cut corners.

You must get a lot of food delivered as I'll bet it is tough leaving that room once you switch everything on, awesome!

I do get a lot of Doordash, not because I won't leave the room but because I can't stand other people.
