RX-A3060 with NHT 5.2.4 setup - External Amp Needed?

No, don't think you're doing anything but "using" the avr in driving the speakers at the volume you liked....or your avr would have gone into shutdown or made adverse noises that were not pleasing. Outside of that I wouldn't worry about it a lot. If worried about the avr might consider adding external cooling to help it out.
Thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like I just need to plan the best way to keep the enclosed cabinet cool.

Cooler running extends life of electronics, so a good goal. Think you're over worrying about it otherwise :) Then again, if you want some extra headroom nothing wrong with that if you don't mind spending the $

If your volume is like most of us, then you won’t need external amps. Ventilation is always a great idea any electronics.
