Netflix has a bad history of just canceling shows so now I’m hesitant to follow new ones from them. And it’s getting expensive and now we have over streaming options.

They keep raising their rates and people are being priced out. I called Netflix and suggested that they do a discounted annual subscription rate like other streaming services.

In Sweden there is only a monthly fee available and to go lower in price I've to give up 4K along with Dolby Vision, but a yearly subscription, perhaps, if it's real good discount now that I'm uncertain to even continue with it.

I would jump in and say that Netflix is a luxury movie item to add to one's list, like Prime Video..... etc. Either you can afford it or not. Or there is more competition with a lower price with commercials, for example. We have Roku and there are apps for free movies with short commercials, that I have watched. Yes, watching commercial free movies are the best, and have to pay for it.

I will be keeping NetFlix, Prime, and Hulu, for what they are worth to me, and can afford. I think over the past 2 years, many consumers are looking at their finances and determining, where they can or have to cut some Expenditures. Netflix has been the big name for a long time and, perhaps their selections have run out? I don't like weekly series, but my wife does.

We have his and her's TV's to keep it simple........

It's not about affording Netflix for me but what I get for it, really. In general I'm sceptic about yearly subscriptions as I can't quickly cancel them if I really need to if "poop happens", so the ones I have I prepay the whole year instead of monthly (usually that is even cheaper).

I'm just now thinking about quitting their disc service, which I have had since pretty much the start of Netflix, as too many are just now on dvd (vs bluray) these days (dropping to dvd only perhaps)....but the issues with content are somewhat minimal as I still have much new to me stuff still to watch, but am waiting to see how it falls out some more, both with streaming and discs, before making any changes.

I'm gonna jump on AMC+ next month, TWD. Gotta see if Rick gonna pop up in one of the last 6 ES. Or if Maggie's going to finally kill Negan. After Ozark ended, I caneled Netflix. Jumped on HBOmax just mostly for The Flight Attendant which by the way was absolutely worth the the fee. But not to much on HBOmax lots of old movies. Peacock+ I jumped on for Yellow Stone which I found absolutely stunning Cinema, well directed, well acted good storyline. But even Peacock+ has a lot of BS to. So I'm a drifter now when it comes to streaming channels. Oh all I got now is Peacock+ ends on the 29th of this month. Will be jumping on HBOmax and AMC+ next month, HBOmax for the GOT spinoff and AMC+ for TWD.

Yeah subscription flexibility is still a nice option (for now ). I did get AMC+ at one point for BCS, but let it lapse as there was little else attractive at the time (not a WD fan).....but am missing the current season and have slight regrets but don't think its worth jumping on just for that, I can wait. Still, with several of the internet channels and the flexibility, beats hell out of my DirecTV subscription/contract.

Than all of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, man it was endless great entertainment. Plus The Witcher of course. I'm not given up on Netflix, I feel they do offer the better overall programming. I didn't mind the 21.99 fee @Trell is right about Netflix 4K Dolby Vision is the best of all the others. Now I haven't tried Hulu yet, but thinking really hard about getting their top tier though.

I pay more for the disc service (3 at a time level incl bluray) than my streaming (HD). The disc selection has dropped off some, but still have plenty in my queue. The latest/greatest show isn't always what I want....unless it's something I'm interested in already and included in a plan I've got by chance of course. Hopefully this last season of BCS will still be made avail on Netflix, tho, and sooner than later . It is nice to binge now and then, too. Was definitely nicer when everything came to Netflix but never really expected it to stay that way....but does make me wonder if they should have charged more in the earlier days, too....but then they have added a lot of their own content since as well, quite a bit of it good stuff.

If you are skeptical about annual subscription, you just keep you monthly subscription. I prefer

If you are skeptical about an annual subscription, in that case, you would keep your more expensive monthly subscription. The point is to offer a choice to the consumer, right now Netflix doesn't offer an annual subscription.

Also, without an annual subscription they can raise you monthly subscription rate at the drop of a dime. They can't do that with annual subscription, which is why I suspect that's the reason Netflix doesn't offer an annual subscription.

The movie, for it's genre, is decent but not worth a movie ticket. On the other hand I only go to a cinema every few years or later.
