Hi All,

Hope you all are doing fine. Need your help on understanding the best software for audio calibration. We use audessey but few customers insiting for more refined calibration.
Kindly suggest me the best options and also let me know how to get trained on this.
Thanks in advance.

Audyssey is a combination of a setup routine as well as equalization. Do you want something just to setup a system for delays/levels or do you also want eq involved?

If you’re familiar with Audyssey you should look into Multi EQ-X.

You sound like an integration/installation outfit. Typically I would rely on you to be the subject matter experts.

"insiting?" Are they just insisting or have they begun inciting? I'd worry more about the latter. Hey, misspellings happen. That reminds me, time for another coat of paint on the portrayal, no portrail, no porch rail. ;)

Have you reviewed the articles on the subject here at Audioholics as to how to setup a system?

I'm going to suggest any commercial entity move beyond enthusiast forums and get to reading books by Toole and Waldrep for starters.

I completely agree. It’s surprising a company wouldn’t know this but what do I know.

If you think those are confusing, you may not want to use a measurement mic and software like REW, or even just an spl meter....all of it has a learning curve to it. Back to my first question, do you just want to set levels/delays or do you want eq involved too?

Audyssey is proprietary software for primarily Denon and Marantz these days. Others are using their own software....Yamaha's YPAO, Onkyo's AccuEQ (now supplemented in newest upper end models with Dirac), Anthem's ARC, etc. It generally is not available as a stand alone option, tho I believe if you had the right hardware (not an avr) you can buy such from Dirac. Generally you are stuck with an avr's built in processing/eq these days, due drm.

ps with the right hardware, REW can implement eq in some units.
