What, how to compare the same thing in two different modes, 2.0 and 5.1?
" Movies are recorded to a general standard, much 2.0 music is not. Play something on Netflix and use it's audio controls to change between 2.0 and 5.1 or do the same with a disc.... "

So you don't know how to find the audio adjustment in your Netflix app? It'll vary somewhat with device and particular version of Netflix app, but try pausing it and see if an audio choice comes up.....you can also just change the 5.1 sound to stereo by changing the sound mode on your McIntosh....at least most avrs/pre-pros can do that.....

Hi All.
from Auddessy support:
1. “Reference level offset should be 0dB for the most bass and treble.”
2. “We are now recommending users increase their sub by 1dB from the basic calibration when the "reference" curve is used.”
3. “If you want more bass from Dynamic EQ, there is a "hack" you can do:

Increase all of your trims by 6dB - or any number of your choosing, but 6dB is a good start.

Once you do that, you can think of your main volume setting of -6.0 dB as "reference" rather than the normal 0.0dB. Having increased the trims by 6dB, you'll have the same overall level of sound, but since Dynamic EQ sees that the main volume setting is 6dB lower, it will add bass.

Of course you can only do this if you have enough range in your trims to do that. If you have more trim range available, you can move this even further - 10dB, 12dB, whatever you want.”

Now I’m happy:)

I know this is also unsolicited. But I can’t help but suggesting that the smeared bass problem is due to the small morel subwoofer. It seems the f3 is only 3db lower then the mains. I’m sure it’s sealed which would lend a 12db slope but still, I don’t think it’s dynamic range is anywhere near the mains. Nor is it’s linearity. So imo, there’s a LOT left on the table as far as bass is concerned.
Just a suggestion.
Also agree with peng. At the very least a throw rug to absorb at least some of the echo. I mean I’d wanna hear how nice those beautiful Mac amps sound!

Does the McIntosh have the ability to use the Audyssey Editor App? Could be a better way to implement a bass-heavy eq curve....

I really don’t know.
In AppStore it’s only Marantz and Denon compatible
the McIntosh have a network connection (Ethernet and Wi-Fi) …
Thank you for your great idea!

I don't see it listed under compatible devices on the app's spec, just Denon & Marantz units so seems you can't.

Didn't see your edit first, but the editor app would work with either way of connecting your network fwiw. I have older Denons so can't use the app either, but I'd like to. What subwoofage do you have?
