Well then, I guess you're gonna survive the apocalypse!
Just wait till all the unleaded gas turns to jelly because of ethanol. Wonder if you can just scrape it off the bottom?

Ok then. Florida and Havana will be mobile....
There are many pre-74 cars and trucks around all over the country. The Woodward Cruise week in Detroit draws thousands of old metal each year.

I only run ethanol free in my 68. Good thing it only goes out on the weekend otherwise I'd need another job just to put gas in it.

Realistically tho I wonder what percent of vehicles on the road are almost 50 years old. I know it's not a nonexistent number but I'd be surprised if it was as high as 5%.

Whenever i catch them on TV, I love watching auctions for older cars. 20 years ago I had the opportunity to buy a 68 Mustang Coupe on the cheap but lifestyle would not allow it at the time. A big regret...

Depends on what you mean by "on the road". I'd think that there are very few actually being used as daily drivers, but there are probably a LOT more parked in garages waiting to be driven.

Waiting for the apocalypse. That's just smart.

Wealthy towns near NYC have lot's of older cars, mostly collector's stock sitting in their garages. Usually it's the homes with 3 car garages and up. Gotta have the room.
They take them out for drives on Sundays to run the engines and show off to the plebs. For a car fan like me, it's sad when you see them take the car to a local grocery store parking lot and see the inevitable shopping cart slam into the side.
Guess they can afford buffers...

Pretty much. My buddy has a 70 corvette that we took to Costco and he parked a significate distance from the entrance.

I always do too. Funny thing is even if I park on the very end, some assshole has to park next to me anyway. Wtf…

Just wants to look at your car. :)
Lol. I think there’s something to that. It never surprises me how many people just randomly come over and wanna talk about. I’m always cordial about it, but it always seems like whenever someone comes over I’m in a hurry to get somewhere lol.
Btw diesel is 4.99 here. Sucks!!!

My tank is full and with how little I drive it'll stay that way for a bit.

Wifey's car however, will probably not stay full long. Spring break is here and the kids are getting restless.
