At first I did not like the newer digital equipment until I listen to the Sherwood 4109 receiver ask for my electronics repairman.
He told me to stop wasting my money in these old vintage receivers and amps and try using some of the Sherwood receivers so 3 years later I listen to him and I couldn't believe it I was 100% wrong the Sherwood 4109 sounded better than any receiver I've ever had it had more bass highs and mids and it was so clear when you turn it up the only thing happens is that it gets more powerful and the sound is totally clear and free of distortion.
I've decided to use these receivers when DJing at parties indoors and outdoors I'm noticed that I had effortlessly no problem whatsoever pushing these huge vintage speakers.
My only question to anyone out there does anyone know if the shield would 4109 is under watts in power.
They stayed as a hundred watts per channel but I have to say there is no way on god's Great earth that this app is 100 watts per channel it's more like 200 or 300 watts pajama but you can never turn it up to prove it to be so without blowing out your speakers so if anyone has any information please send it to me or post it I believe these amplifiers are on the Watts and he asked of what they're posting every one of them that states 100 watts per channel which is most of them I believe are 200 watts per channel there's no way 100 watt per channel amplifier can push all these vintage earthquake speakers someone has the answer out there please let me know
I love old equipment I have purchased receivers such as onkyo marantz pioneer sansui techniques and many other receivers I must say out of all the vintage receivers that I have noted I have not heard anything like the Sherwood 4109 I usually DJ in nightclubs in New York I have been using Cerwin Vega vintage equipment that is over 50 years old.
The a2200 the A3000i and the A1800.
I was extremely happy with the amount of wattage and sound coming from these vintage units some of them are almost 75 lb in weight and our bulletproof and solid steel some of them still have the original parts the only thing I've changed in two of them or the filter capacitors not that they needed to be changed but I felt more comfortable and changing them rather than having a gig and have one of them fail.
That said Tom electronics repair in Augusta Georgia informed me to stop wasting my money on these old apps and getting them fixed why don't I try a Sherwood receiver three years ago I laughed at him I said they would never be able to hold up with the amount of speakers and power I push and demand when having gigs.
Well I was made to look like a fool when I decided to buy one off of eBay just to play around with it for $75.
I hope the Sherwood 4109 to my equalizer and preamplified mixer I then hook them up to my Cerwin Vega vintage earthquakes all 8 of them.
Turned the volume on the receiver up to 40 and the mixer volume halfway and it almost blew out my windows and cracked my ceiling and walls with the amount of power that was coming out of this receiver unlike the vintage Vega receivers I felt like I was going to blow out my speakers with this show with AM FM receiver I was astonished by it I couldn't believe it I was totally wrong and spend thousands on this vintage equipment to find out I could have purchased these little sure would receivers to do the same job for less than 300 bucks at this time I purchased three more from eBay.
One for $75 free shipping the other two for $35 with $25 shipping all three of them work perfectly and all three of them were tested on the same speakers noted and all three of them put out enough power to blow my eardrums out and the rock any nightclub I couldn't believe it the only thing I could say is they have to be underrated in Watts these things are not 100 watts per channel they could not be because the speakers that I am using are vintage high wattage speakers 1 watt to move 500 watts Max RMS per cabinet.
That said I never had to use the equalizer just the equalizer preamplifier the mixer has a bass and treble control on it and I turned up the basin treble control to maximum on the receiver the sound was astonishing I couldn't believe it so if you want to receiver that will rock your speakers get yourself a Sherwood for $35 or maybe just a little more on eBay the 4105 and the 4109 are the same it's just the 4109 as a turntable input in the 4105 does not but they both are rated for the same underrated watts of 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms only.
No matter what anybody tells you I am a professional and I have tested many amplifiers and receivers and I come back with this statement I've never heard anything for the price sound is good as these Sherwood receivers take my word for it they rock.....
