I have 2 x KEF CI200QSB-THX woofers in the ceiling in the correct size bass box, can this work like this or have I made a mistake to place the woofers in front of the front speakers

They will work.

The bigger mistake is in putting ALL the speakers up in the ceiling. No bed level front, center, surround or rears means it's a 100% "voice of God" sound.

Yes, you might as well have it up straight. That is the daftest system I have ever heard of. Whatever you do with it, it will be awful and worse than a sound bar.

My advice is scrap it and start over.

While I agree with everyone that posted I also completely understand you may not have had a choice depending on wife and family input and other factors out of your control

It will work as long as your not too hard on yourself and your expectations of your system since normally most of the main speakers are not supposed to be in the ceiling

May I ask why you needed to place them all up there?

On the plus side if later on you can put some bed layer speakers on the floor you may be able to use some of the speakers up there as heights someday

Either way we all do the best we can with the limits we have and I hope you have fun with your system!
