Anyhoo... India has a very legit metal band, "Bloodywood" and I'm really impressed with this song!

Damn dood! That's downright heavy, and the way they've mixed their cultural influences and instruments really works well!

Very similar to Soulfly and older Sepultura with all their tribal influence.

I was watching a Stevie T video "Metal Bands In Different Countries" and those guys really stood out to me. It's a great song and they even sing it in English. I love the theme and title too. "Machi Bhasad (Expect A Riot)". Fuckinay. Just badass from top to bottom.

Stevie T is a goofball who mixes metal guitar with comedy. Think Jim Carrey meets Eddie Van Halen... he is a very good guitarist tho and a metalhead. I've discovered some other stuff too watching his videos.

There are one or two others I liked in that video too. Like this all girl band from Thailand.

They can really shred too!

Bloodywood has an Anti-pop album where they do metal covers of all sorts of stuff. I'm going to have to give that a listen.

I'm discovering all kinds of new stuff all of a sudden. Like these guys, Lesser Key and the song "Intercession".

You may think they sound very TOOL-like, but that could maybe be forgiven since the bassist is Paul D'Amour, TOOL's original bass player and was on their first 2 albums. They do have that familiar feel, but still their own thing.

Yeah, they've been popping up on my "The Hu" Pandora station. Pretty good stuff

I've gotten into a bit of Eskimo Callboy lately after hearing this song:

I'm not much into "screaming" metal usually, but I like the blends here as well as how they don't take themselves too seriously. It's catchy stuff. If you like that song, also check out Hypa Hypa and Pump It.
