Kiev pensioner Maria started making Molotov cocktails for the defense. Hands remember! Everything is like in youth, again you have to burn the Nazis.

Friends, sign up for the defense or also go make Molotov cocktails so that we can further burn out the occupier.

We don’t have a bar here, but we’ll definitely throw cocktails for idiots!

Correction on those arrests. Last count was 1400 or so total in 53 cities in Russia.
Looks like the Russian people may have been awakened.
yet according to this mornings news 60% of the Russian citizens believe NATO is responsible for this mess ! Russian propaganda, it's the 1930's all over again .........

Looking at various parts of the internet, the younger folks in Russia seem to be pretty pissed that this is happening. I wouldn't trust any polls coming out of there either.

It really does seem like this is 100% the Russian gov and NOT the people.

I don't think we'll really know the truth though. Too much BS and propaganda as you said.

As a Westener, its too easy to criticize the Russian people as we have not lived in their shoes, experienced the fear that they have lived in for most of their lives. The younger generation are far more aware of whats out in the world than the older generation and want a better life. They are making up the protest movement against Putin.

Yep, the older generation lived with it for a hell of a lot longer than the youngers who were also better equipped to get exposed to the internet and the rest of the world.

Agree so much BS on the web. And its even harder trusting the news since the story could be slanted to support Bidens thinking and not what the rest of the world thinks, so much partisanship going on as well.. The internet is full of conspiracy theories of what's going on from its the US faults, to Putin going after No Nazi's, to the horrible humanitarian issues in the Ukraine, and the Kremlin has accused Ukraine of failing to honor the 2015 peace deal and criticized the West for failing to encourage Ukrainian compliance , and Putin has strongly emphasized that Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO represent a red line for Moscow. So who knows what the truth is.

The QAnon morons are not exactly upper class twits (as far as I know), but this did make me think of the Monty Python Upper-Class Twit of the Year:

But, alas, it is not to be. The QAnon morons are apparently enthralled by their new moron-in-chief Putin:

>>>QAnon followers and influencers have celebrated Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, falsely believing it is part of a battle against the "deep state.". . . QAnon influencers have cast Putin in a positive light and believe he is now engaged in a fight against an international cabal of satanic pedophiles and "deep state" members who have interests in Ukraine. <<<

Just when I thought it was not possible for a human being to be any dumber, the QAnon morons prove me wrong.

Given the historical ranking of idiots, imbeciles, and morons, perhaps we need to more properly describe them as idiots:

Idiots. —Those so defective that the mental development never exceeds that or a normal child of about two years.
Imbeciles. —Those whose development is higher than that of an idiot, but whose intelligence does not exceed that of a normal child of about seven years.
Morons. —Those whose mental development is above that of an imbecile, but does not exceed that of a normal child of about twelve years.
— Edmund Burke Huey, Backward and Feeble-Minded Children, 1912

Edit: Here's a solid candidate for QAnon:

Spot on!

What do you figure "Biden's thinking" is and how does it differ from what the "rest of the world thinks"? It seems to me that Biden was a Cassandra on Putin's intentions. The talking heads on the right called him a warmonger for predicting what the Russians were going to do. Putin simply does not want Ukraine in the western orbit where it would have a chance to democratize and develop their economy, increasing living standards for her people. Ukraine may have wanted to join NATO, but no such offer had been made. NATO is a purely defensive organization, with no reason to attack Russia. Putin knows this, but is just inventing BS excuses to invade Ukraine. The only thing protecting the Baltic states from the same fate is NATO membership.

Blaming Biden, NATO or "The West" in general is just more misinformation.

That is what I find so bizarre. Russia behaves in a manner that drives neighbours to seek out defensive partnerships and when they do, threatens and/or invades them.
That's what has been happening to China over the last few years. As the CCP flex their new found muscles, it drives foreign policy and munitions sales in Australia, Japan, Vietnam, on and on....

Good question. Biden had extensive exposure to US foreign policy with over 50 years in DC. Being a senior Senator then Vice President for 8 years should have only magnified that experience. That being stated, I don't think Biden is the one thinking right now in his condition. It's the personnel he has surrounded himself with that are making the decisions based on their experience, et al. Since they are mostly ex Obama Admin, it's better to look there.

I think Norway and Finland should apply to join NATO without the knowledge of Putin, to protect themselves and stop him in his foolish ideas and actions.

I wonder why they hadn't joined them.

I find a map is helpful. After the collapse of the USSR, most all of the Cold War Iron Curtain countries joined NATO. All except Belarus, Ukraine, and some parts of the former Yugoslavia. That speaks volumes about what they thought after being dominated by the USSR for 46 years.

Because Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania might be Putin's next targets, Sweden and Finland have good reason to rethink their neutrality.
