Now, If you want to discuss LGBTQ issues and keep judgemental comments out of it, I'm certain it would be looked at differently. However, you're posing a false equivalency between discussing whether a trans athlete should be able to compete as their identified gender vs whether a person who is into drag can do their job.

Here's a great example: My Dad is racist. I don't put up with it. He wants to drop the N-bomb and I look him straight in the eye and challenge him to do say that to his friend across the street who is black. He shuts up pretty fast.

Not knowing your Dad all I can hope for is it doesn't ruin your relationship with him, life is too short and when you get to his age you will realize that. The fact that he has a friend that is black can hopefully mentor his ways

@ryanosaur , yep best Audio website on the web. Made some cool friends on here pickup some awesome deals on gear. My understanding of audio gear has improved greatly from Gene, his staff, like James with his testing and reviews of speakers and subs. Second to none in my book. Erin's pretty damn good himself. Learned at Lot more about, Auto room correction from you guys! Made a really great friend in Andrew and a trusted friend! Get him to tell you about his family's chicken farm, he's got a great sense of humor. Told me he hated that chicken farm. Lol. And thus, it IS possible for two people with differing opinions to have a discussion and conversation!
Like my Dad, Mikado, I'm not trying to change you. He will continue to be who he is.
My hope is that he will at least understand and respect that the color of a persons skin does not make them any less of a person.

On topic-- It wasn't very long ago that visible tattoos were a taboo and the old folks would say, "nobody is gonna give you a job looking like that".

We all know (I hope) that visible tattoos have nothing to do with job performance. Nowadays, it doesn't even get much notice. And we have local news reporters that even have visible tattoos. Maybe 20 years ago we would never see something like that.

Agreed it's hardwired into humans. Hatred can be a force for good at times. Hating evil, slavery, Rick Astley, Voldemort, my wife leaving the top off the toothpaste, etc. Problem is society has to agree as to what is evil.

Now if it's a thread saying I'm wondering if there political ideology might affect they're ability to neutrally do the job and that can be backed up with links we can go over then yeah we have a thread with something to discuss

I kindoff don't care tho because either party will appoint people that adhere to certain political beliefs. And the next party that wins will do the same. So there going to be bias in how the person nominated shapes policy and that's unavoidable

And if one party gets ousted the next party coming in just fires them all and puts new members in so nothing really ever gets done its a back and forth tug of war so oh well
