Can't wait to see them up on your site love what you do man thanks for being on these forums! And good luck at the new location!
For discussion sake... Currently I'm asking $150 for assembly on the Cube 15 & Cube 18 enclosures,
$175 for the Mini's & $200+ On the Fulls (BTS & DEV builds will be more). Hammer will be less.
Assembly & Paint is seeing me looking for $800-$1k for a pair.
*This is automotive grade LineX not Duratex.
** Conversationally its $400-$500 per box for completed work (I swear we are making peanuts on these added services)

I'd love opinion's on those costs from everyone. IMO it's not bad for someone without tools, space or perhaps some confidence related issues

I think the prices are more than fair but I would welcome more knowledgeable DIY members feedback on this such as @ryanosaur or @lovinthehd or @shadyJ gentleman your thoughts

I don't have the tools or time but I would love to buy from you and the assembled ones I would do I can Paint them myself

Very excited to hear about this!

Well, that's the thing with a diy sub, you have to be happy with your finish/finishing skills, so I think you're almost there. The assembly is easy, while clamps are nice people have done this sort of cnc-cut flatpack assembly with something as basic as masking tape to hold it together while the glue dries, but perhaps you can simply borrow some? Cutting a terminal cup surely a friend with a forstner bit (what I use to install my preferred speakon terminal) or jigsaw or something can be found....maybe same guy with clamps :) Finishing with paint is one way, duratex isn't a bad way to go either.

ps shipping for assembled boxes aside from additional expense, also opens them up to further chances of damage in handling IMO.

We have that part covered on all enclosures... See next post!

For anyone that's never seen... this sweet little bit of engineering is included on every enclosure we design
(not the Hammer)

Labor is a b!tch. If you aren't practiced at any of those skills, you can easily double if not quadruple the time required to do the job by somebody in the know. Quality of work is a whole nother conversation, especially when it comes to finishing work!
XO assembly isn't that bad once you get the basics down, how to lay out a board, use a soldering iron, etc... but I spent days doing my first XOs. I expect to speed that up when I do my next project. ;) Shouldn't really take more than an hour per board unless its stupid-complicated.

I would love to get to play around with the nuts and bolts of pricing that... so much depends on the labor and material costs. Not much different than pricing out a dish in a restaurant. :)

Cool indeed to take care of it with a speakon specific fix! Was wondering just what you do to ship and protect assembled/finished boxes? How much extra is shipping vs flatpack? (my career was in logistics)

I know a guy who lives down your way, and he was looking for work last I checked....so I'll pass your info on.

A good freight service is indispensable. Salk uses Roadrunner, for example. My gear from him showed up nice and tight.

Cost wise it changes nothing.. A $50 material & handling cost will likely end up baked into the Assembly up charge to cover extra packing materials.
It's currently $320 for me to ship a pallet with two enclosures.. Doesn't change if its four, six or eight (although we add $50 as mentioned above for extra packaging).
When I do large group pallets (very popular) & have 4-6 people I start shipping at $320 & +$50 for every additional person (I need to pay my guys to palletize these & materials), then i split the shipping between everyone.
Bill's a magician at packaging these up so nothing moves.
Knock on wood but nothing negative so far has happened.

How many assembled boxes can you fit on a pallet vs flat-pack, tho? No dimensional or weight limit on the pallet build? Controlling your own packaging and doing it right is the best thing you can do to avoid handling issues....but if a guy runs into the pallet with a forklift then all bets are off (seen it a few times :) ).

Oh we've had our own internal 'Oop's'! Of course at that stage though it's a complete unpack & replace & rebuild.
To date I've not exceeded fully assembled quads on a pallet but I'd say six wouldn't be an issue or a combination of FP's & assembled.
Weight we found out recently isn't really an issue until we breach 1200lbs & size is no issue if we manage the vertical nicely.
This all said... It's still new for 'Us' & why I enjoy sharing in these forums. Likeminded people with good idea's.
No doubt we'll encounter something as things progress but GSG clients are generally really good with the 'You work with us & we'll work with you' mentality.
The Cube 18 (so far) is the only enclosure we've managed to 'Box up" as a flat-pack for shipping under the FedEx umbrella... weight & size land it at $380 shipped to the door.
The packaging, box & HD styro passed numerous four foot in house drop tests

Which speakers did you order from Jim? I used to roll a pair of Song 3 Encore's myself. Amazing products.

He built my Phil3s from Dennis/Philharmonic Audio. Dennis being his XO designer.

I would love to check out something like the Song 3 Encore or BeATs.
The SS9.5 is a stunning Speaker... got to hear that a few years ago.

I'm planning a DIY build of the BMR's right away using the PE curved enclosures & Madi kit!
So sweet. Going to pit them against my current 805d3's

Do you have some of those cabinets?
I thought they got pulled from the market. Worst decision ever, frankly.
