Denon increases AVR prices for 2022

Really it was inevitable and I won't be surprised if they go up another 50 or 100 bucks by next the end of this year.
Inflation is a bi%tch man it's starting to make some of these bargain prepros like ToneWinner look appealing the next time I buy instead of from the mainstream companies

I think that may be a part of the market that some might exploit

Stripped down units with no fancy room eq that sell for much less than the big companies are selling

I manually eq all my systems anyway. That would be nice if it takes off a little competition to help bring down prices in the market right now would be great

SU sent an email about a month ago about their price increases for Jan 2022.

I have a client waiting on an AV7706. So hopefully SU didn’t increase the price on that. :D

The X8500HA increased from $4500 to $4600, not too bad. One client just got his X8500HA a few days ago, so we beat the price increase on that. :D

Yeah really. Their site has been looking pretty lean lately. They don't have any small to mid sized towers on there anymore all. Just the big boys.

Well ya gotta make something on the conversion if you can, we used to do well paying in local currencies....
Did you have a stash of local currencies? Perhaps bought at a better conversion price?

If they have no control over the cost and availability of the components that go into their products, would you really expect the price to the consumer to remain the same?

There's a shortage of almost everything in electronics- try to fine a broad line of TVs, AVRs, etc. Cable boxes are in short supply- if the cable companies can't get the products they need, we're not going to get what we want.

We have paid more for worse for a long time- the difference is that now, it's much easier to do a comparison.
Not sure why Denon prices had to increase if Marantz stayed the same. Do you think Marantz customers are being offered a discount Over Denon? Maybe to promote brand loyalty?

Why would you think that other countries would adopt the dollar as their official currency when they A) existed before the US, B) have a currency that works perfectly well and C) would require forcing their people to learn it?

If you're comparing the price, £ vs $ requires conversion- you wouldn't save money by using a different currency. Did the price show anything about VAT (Value Added Tax)? They pay that, we don't. Also, what about line voltage?
I vacation in Europe every summer. I wouldn’t expect foreign countries to use the dollar. lol. I’m not sure how I communicate that to you. But that is not at all what I meant.

Well, you didn't volunteer the tidbit about vacationing in Europe until this reply, so I don't know why anyone would have gotten the impression that you spend any time outside of your normal location which, BTW, you didn't mention.

You complained about the difference in pricing between the US and Europe- I don't know why you would consider buying this in Europe unless you might use it there or for some reason, bring it back and use a converter.

Might be stock on hand, different components...hard to say. I doubt they would tell dealers anything about this.
