Subwoofer on a budget.

Didn’t look at physical measurements, but I think the Daytons are a bit larger too, making an under desk deployment more difficult.
I looked and it is a little bit bigger. Not by a whole bunch, but it is slightly larger.

Man it pisses me off when one of the best solutions is out of stock, lol.

Thanks so I'll focus on those two and my search is done :)
I think you can get on a preorder list for RSL and they might be able to give you an idea how long it'll be. I do think the bump in performance is worth a reasonable wait.

In case I end up going for the SVS SB-1000, in amazon Canada the SVS SB-1000 Pro is cheaper than the SVS SB-1000 So that is a none brainer right? go for the Pro?

Usually only happens to me!!! Lol
Actually when I bought my c34e’s, the second pair was on BO for a bit. I didn’t have the AVR yet so it wasn’t a biggie. I did build a couple of enclosures for them and used them as the mains in my bedroom 5.1. That was dumb, because I got to hear how awesome they were, and the wait did get harder after that lol.
The sb1k is pretty good, and being directly under the desk will probably alleviate some of extension issues, but I still think the value is with rsl.

Yes. Odd that it’s cheaper but hey! That’s just a bonus. Also, if the app function is of value then it’s also a consideration.

Yes. The Pro series are a legit step up and makes it a no brainer.

I agree the Dayton that mike linked is a really good option especially considering it’s price tag, AND the fact that RSL is sold out. But, I do believe the rsl is more linear, and you can definitely get on the pre order list. I'm just hoping Pogre, decides to move on from that RBH sub he has stashed behind his sofa. Looks like he not using it much anyways. @Pogre I got first dibs!:D

Oh I use it, and when I die I'm leaving instructions to be cremated then put my ashes inside it. My son will probably end up with it. That way I'll still get to hear Tool every once in a while long after I croak.

Hits like an anvil behind the couch. Well, only when I want it to. It's not a huge difference with regular music. You can't even tell it's back there. When I'm playing some sub candy or movie nights tho it definitely slams!

Thanks for all you guys for your enthusiasm in your willingness to help me in this endeavor, but I should have checked dimensions before going any deeper into this, I just did some measurements and I can't go over 13.5 inches in width without making myself uncomfortable in that desk, and chances are in the other side of the footrest I will add a narrow drawers unit or a bracket to hang the receiver sideways.

So that makes the search even harder :( , but the SB-1000 is within the right width.

Sorry about the cable mess, once is done all of those cables will be cut to length and everything else will be hidden within the cable management :)

The RSL in a corner would work pretty well still if there's room elsewhere in the office. If positively going under the desk then it looks like the SB1000 Pro is the clear choice, and not a bad one. That's basically nearfield which will help negate the difference in extension.

Thanks Pogre, what do you mean by difference in extension?

The RSL can play deeper bass with more authority, or extension. When we say extension we mean how far the bass will extend into the lower octaves. The RSL can play frequencies that extend lower with better linearity than the sealed SB1000-P. Ported designs are inherently much better at this. However in your case you're basically right on top of it, or nearfield, so the lesser extension of the sealed SB1000-P will not be as big a factor.

You might get a little performance bump from room gain and having in somewhat of a cubby right against the wall too.

Thanks Pogre! btw please ignore all my measurements I double-checked the width of the SB10000 and is pretty much the same as the RSL, at this point I'm done with my research and I will have to figure out how to live with a 15" width subwoofer under my Desk. I will see how long it takes RSL to be in stock again and how much is the shipment to Canada, otherwise, I'll go with the SB-1000 or the Pro as the plan B.

Just be patient and get the speedwoofer. I have two of them and they are amazing for music and movies.
