I watched this on BluRay tonight with my son-in-law's parents. This film is awesome in its actors, story line and CGI. The soundtrack was tame however and I had to turn the volume up into the mid -20s on my RX-A3060 to get any kind of impact. If I did this on Iron Man or some other Marvel flick, I would have by-law visiting me. Maybe 2 extra bodies watch the flick abosrtbed that much of the sound?? :p

-20 is more my average level, only streamed this one, but don't remember fiddling with the volume on this one.....but wanted to watch it again so will keep it in mind....did enjoy this addition to the MCU

Very Nice VFX, but a weak and very forgettable story. Barely related to MCU, except quite forced Ben Kingsley cameo.
a rent, not own movie.

I agree. Im glad I purchased the bluray. Although I ended up buying Suicide Squad2, I prefer the story of Shang-Chi over SS2. They definately have more plans for this character in upcoming releases.

It is probably the way it was mixed. I have not seen that one yet, but I remember Thor: Ragnarok needing to be turned up louder than usual. I have the RX-A3050.

I can confirm that Shang Chi was one of the most underwhelming soundtracks yet. Whoever is responsible for mastering the audio on these Disney UHD disc's needs to be fired. It's as if they want the format to die.

I will no longer buy Disney disc because of this the first time I noticed it was in Thor Ragnarok. Then it was even worse in Black Panther it's just gone downhill from there

I wonder how it sounds on Disney+? I have been meaning to watch for this last week, may have to give it a try. Disney+ is hit or miss too with sound quality.

I suspect Disney mixes their soundtracks so they sound balanced through soundbars since those kinds of people are their target audience with the streaming service.

That makes me literally . Those of us with home theaters get screwed.

It's purely speculation since it adds up. If I'm wrong then Disney has serious QC issues.

Still, as a longtime Marvel comics fan I can't wait to see it. :)

I found the sound pretty average on D+ I liked the movie, but it sort of started to lose interest in the last act, which became a typical Marvel movie. First 3/4 of the film were really good.
