$20 vs. $400; the cost to have dual subs. Which is more justified?

So I've posted about my house upgrades and this is my final dilemma.

I have a LG C1 and I got a RCA Audio Extractor(recommended by a member here) so that I can hook up my Audioengine A5+ speakers and my Audioengine S8 sub to the C1
using said rca to Optical adapter...... Now I'm upgrading the living room to all SvS speakers and dual subs next week. But I want to take the S8 sub that
I have in the living room and add it to my bedroom to have dual s8 subs but I only see 2 ways to make that happen.

a) Pay $400 to get the Emotiva BasX PT1 Stereo Preamplifier/DAC/Tuner because it will let you hook up 2 subs(1 with R/L rca and a second with LFE.
b) Pay $20 and just get two rca splitters and hook up both subs that way.

I'm pretty sure using splitters will just send the same stuff to both subs so its not really dual and I won't notice sound going from left sub to right. But I think that
is done if i get the preamp that will handle 2 subs the correct way. But my question is is it worth it? Will I notice it?
I game and watch movies so sound will be distracting if not accurate so should I do preamp or just splitter?

The Y-splitter is the correct answer. You NEVER run stereo subs, always mono. The dual sub outputs are either identical, or allow the subs to be equalized differently.

Exactly what TLS said. Left right, or stereo subs is t really a thing. Just use a splitter.
