What would be a good first movie to watch in our upgraded HT system?

The 4K variants seem to have the higher audio formats. Whether you have Atmos speakers setup or not, I feel the bass is still better on the remastered tracks.

Tron Legacy unfortunately does not have a 4K release, because I would have bought it already lol. It still sounds great.
Pacific Rim - 4K disc has a really solid Atmos track.
Edge of Tomorrow definitely has a great audio track, I need to pick the 4K up, but even the BD release was good.
Fifth Element 4K has a great Atmos track
I just bought the John Wick 4K set and the audio tracks sound better than before to my ears.

I own the Blu Ray version of Edge Of Tomorrow and agree the audio is very good. Fun story, great special effects and top notch action too.

Do I remember reading somewhere that the 4k version does not have that ridiculously low bass tone at the beginning? I seem to remember that tone was not intended to be so powerful but slipped through like that. I might be totally off on that, but I swear I remember reading something to that effect.

I actually don't see a US disc release of 4K for Edge of Tomorrow. I have the 3D version which has a DTS HD-MA track and that deep note is definitely there. Surprised me the first time I watched it :)

I have seen this reported as well. But only speculation. The soundtrack as a whole though, is excellent. Seems that most of Tom cruise’s films have great audio.

As far as 4K goes I’ve also seen some of them with neutered bass. Much like how some BD versions of dvd’s were too. Can’t remember which ones off hand though…

Maybe not the whole movie, but the pod racing scene in Phantom Menace is a great few minutes to show off your system. Rogue One also has a few scenes that show off Atmos well.

The pod race scene is pretty awesome on a nice system.

Just be careful with BR2049. My Blu-ray is 10dB hotter than most other movies I have. Perhaps the 4K may not be?

Looks like the BD and 4K have the same Atmos track, yes it is pretty hot.

I'll tell you an unexpected one. As I was looking through my list of disc with Atmos, one that came up was The Dark Crystal 4K. I threw it in and it has a surprisingly very active Atmos track.
