I am think of buying a Denon AVR-x8500H that doesn't have HDMI 2.1 which I require for my pc to play video games at 4k 120hz. But the Denon does support eARC and I have a Samsung Q94A (uk model number)\Q90A(us model) tv with eARC pass through. Is it possible to connect the pc to the tv to get my video requirements of 4k 120hz and then Pass through(without any processing) a Dolby atmos signal via eARC back to the Denon receiver? I cannot figure out whether the eARC would pass video and audio back or just the audio. If it is audio and video then I don't think it would work as the receiver is not Hdmi 2.1 and would be able the see the signal.

Your Denon X8500H does support HDMI 2.1 4k/120 and eARC, not sure why you are saying it doesn't? Is it different specs in the UK?

Scratch that, the x8500HA does support 2.1. You can upgrade the Denon, but it is $599.00(US)
ARC can support passthrough Dolby Atmos, though not guarenteed depenent on devices.

Denon upgraded my AV8802 to the (A) Designation for free to get HDMI 2.0, not happy they the charge for it now. But I am sure its expensive

Haven't brought it yet. But it is £1000($1341) cheaper an the Denon X8500HA and is just in my price range. Guessing people are get rid of old stock.

ARC/eARC is what it says....audio return channel (using an existing hdmi connection from avr to display), it doesn't carry video back to the avr....

My understanding he was trying to send the audio ATMOS back via ARC/eARC by pluging PC HDMI directly into TV to take advatage of HDMI 2.1 4k/120hz on the Samsung. Had nothing to do with sending video back. Which from I have read, he might abe able to send the Atmos Signal through ARC depending if the equipment supports it. eARC connection will definitly carry over the Atmos track. Since his receiver only supports Arc, he would need to check the manuals on both the TV and receiver to see if would work.

@Cos but he did ask about the video.... see this:
