Hi,

I'm all tapped out looking for some new Dolby Atmos Concert Blu-rays. Can you advise what you think is the Best one out there?

Thanks for the assist.

Well I don't do Atmos at the moment, thinking about going back to Atmos soon but the best sounding live Blu Ray I have is Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. It's just insane it sounds so good.

Yeah haven't gone to the Atmos yet myself. Doesn't sound like there's much there to choose from so far? Searching the subject this thread was a top search result! @-Jim- what ones do you have now and how do you rank 'em?

As far as other concert blurays hard to beat Stop Making Sense from The Talking Heads or and some of the Live at Montreux series or some of Steven Wilson's.....how good is a normal bluray with Dolby Surround upmixing?

Trying to think of which ones are in Atmos.

I can think of 2 that are:

Imagine Dragons, Smoke & Mirrors Live

INXS - Live Baby Live

Sorry for the delay in my response Lovinthehd & others.

I have only a couple of immersive concert disks (hence the Thread) with two in Atmos:

Roger Waters: The Wall
INXS - Live Baby Live

And a quirky Blues Brothers Movie in DTS-X. I bought this in 4K mostly just for the Tunes.
(Note - I edited the title of this Thread to include DTS-X as that may get more responses - Thanks)

I'm struggling to define which disk I like better as all are okay, but sound wise - nothing stands out to make it my pick as superior over the others, or for that matter an up-mixed normal Blu-ray Concert disk.

Of course a lot has to do with - do I like the music up front. The Wall has maybe 2 tunes in it, but the rest of the disk doesn't get there for me. The INXS concert is a technological achievement on the video front, but not so much on the sound. I'm really only familiar with a couple of their tunes as well, and it's probably better than The Wall. It's been ages since I played The Wall, so maybe I should re-visit it.

Maybe I'm expecting a "wow" moment where the sound just engulfs you more than say the typical 5.1 HD codec experience with the up-mixer engaged.

I have been listening to a few "of the Live at Montreux series" and some are incredible performances which the up-mixer treats well. I haven't heard any of of Steven Wilson's work. Can you suggest a disk or two?

I need to come up with some new ones as I typically put Concert Disks on the top of my Christmas wish list. I'll see if I can check out
Imagine Dragons, Smoke & Mirrors Live.

Thanks for the tips to date. ;)

Well Steven Wilson's former band Porcupine Tree has some very good bluray/dvd selections, as also happened under his solo efforts afterwards. He also remixes for for a variety of artists he likes, particularly in multich (mostly prog rock stuff), check them out here https://www.facebook.com/swremixes A good starter I think is Porcupine Tree Arriving Somewhere...pm me :)

Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague is amazing. Every time I sit down to "watch one track" I end up finishing the concert. BluRay 4K is in Atmos. I saw the concert on tour in New York City and afterwards bought tickets for the following night.

It is in TrueHD which will play back in Atmos. I have it and this disc even without Atmos already sounded amazing. With the heights it literally sounds like you are there.

Most of the Porcupine Tree discs have DTS and will play back with height channels and it sound good on most of them. Arriving somewhere is available on BD with improved audio now too. Their best one I think is probably Anesthetize actually, but looks like it might be out of print? Prices are pretty high. It automatically gets picked up by DTS-X.

Steven Wilson's Home Invasion Live at Albert Hall and Hand.Cannot.Erase (out of print it seems) are also excellent. DTSHD-MA I believe on both. **I just checked both of these and they do not automatically process on DTS-X.

I bought the Blu-ray disc of this Live in Prague performance. The sound is not treble heavy but really bass heavy, with track No. 32 as the heaviest.
Streaming will never come close to the real disc. Very well organized and amazing performance with excellent musicians, singers and choir.

I don't have Atmos speakers in my system. The disc plays as a 5 channel recording with a lot of signal coming out of the left and right surround speakers as well. If you want to play loud, you need to have good subs that can take the power, very possibly some at infrasonic frequencies. It's a damn good disc if you want to annoy neighbors.

Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague. Either on Blu-ray 4K atmos disc or Kaleidescape 4K HDR Atmos.

In general, I have collected a lot of concert recommendations on this topic:) I really like quality sound, so I spent a lot of time looking for good concert recordings. I also wrote an interesting article about concert reviews on a resource for students https://samplius.com/free-essay-examples/concert-review/ with free essay samples . I am very glad that there is a large number of connoisseurs who share my love of sound.

I know my reply is a bit late, but I wanted to say that choosing the best Dolby Atmos Concert Blu-ray can be tough with such a large selection out there. There are so many incredible options to choose from, making it hard to pick just one! Personally, I lean towards live concerts of my favorite artists. There's something about the energy and atmosphere of a live performance. And speaking of live shows, if you're ever looking to create an unforgettable atmosphere and ensure high-quality sound for your own events, I highly recommend checking out the specialists at lalightingandsound.com. They are experts in organizing amazing shows and can help you create an immersive audiovisual experience that will leave everyone in awe.

I bought this too on a 4K Blu-ray. Clapton is always amazing, but then I've been a fan for decades. The recoding of this is superb, but even in HD 7.2 it sounds fabulous. I played the 24 Bit FLAC version I downloaded and the bottom end is just so solid. I was mucking about with a new Sub today and this was one of my test Albums!!

Of course, the choice of Dolby Atmos Blu-ray discs depends on your musical preferences. Some of the best in this technology include concert recordings of artists such as Pink Floyd (e.g. "Pulse"), Hans Zimmer ("Live in Prague") and Queen ("A Night at the Odeon"). These discs will allow you to enjoy stunning sound quality and visual effects. I want to share interesting information with you. I'm currently writing an essay on "The Role of College Experience in Achieving Business Success After Graduation." Hi Gents. Recently I read that KISS had done their last concert ever at Madison Square Garden (last week).

Kiss Plays Final Concert at MSG.

Kiss Lights the Empire State Building

I vaguely remembered that I think I bought Kiss Rocks Vegas on Blu-ray, so in honor of the Band's retirement after 50 years, I dug it out to play part of it before dinner tonight.

To my utter amazement, this 2014 concert (2016 produced disk) has a Dolby Atmos soundtrack!

It was amazing to hear the Helicopter flying overhead in the opening scene, which supposedly brought them to do the concert. All the pyro at then end of the show was also immersive.

I never thought to look back over my Blu-rays for Dolby Atmos soundtracks. I guess I'll just have to take a look in case there are some more Gems to be found.

Hey Gents,

Any new suggestions as I'm looking to put something on my Christmas Wish List for my Misses and my (adult) Sons to ponder.

I'm running out of suggestions and time.

Help!
