Really need help deciding which sub to get.

Hello I've asked a few (noob) questions and have gotten some good answers. I am fairly new to home audio but am learning a lot.
I made a mistake and bought a sb-1000 pro and am completely underwhelmed by it for my setup. So I am exchanging it for either the pb-1000 pro or the pb-2000 pro. I have a big room but I also have a shared wall. I want deep bass but I can't play it really loud all the time especially at night. Should I go with the pb-1000 pro? Or will it leave me underwhelmed like the sb does? I do not want to purchase the wrong sub again as SVS upgrade program is a little different here in Canada and I don't want to go through this hassle again. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

It is better to have the extra ability (headroom) in the Sub, even if you rarely tap into it. Remember, you control the volume knob... it does not control you!

PB 2000 Pro

Don't forget, engage with you neighbors. Hopefully you are already friendly. Don't freak them out by telling them you are getting a bigger subwoofer, either. But if they do say something to you, ask if you can come over to hear, bring them a bottle of something nice.
In the end though, when you set up the sub, and you dial it in with your room correction, it's not going to be louder because its ported and/or larger. It will be calibrated the same way. Yes, the lower extension will be louder, but you can control that to some degree with DEQ and Dynamic Volume if you are on a Denon or Marantz, for example.

Frankly, I still think you should go with a PB 3000, but the 2000 Pro should do you nicely.

Learn from your first experience. You can't really have too much subwoofage. You can always make adjustments to tame that down. Not enough you can't do much about.

That's what I went with (from Summit HiFi although EFL Canada has good prices too). I have the sealed version due to limited space in a 12x16x7 room and it performs great. The ported version will go a couple of hertz deeper and offer slightly better dynamics, so if the room is big the PB 2000 Pro is the way to go.
