Bedroom receiver for RBH SV-61R

I bought these originally as a hopeful replacement for my Dynaudio special 40s but they just weren’t quite up to the task. In the meantime I’ve sold the special 40s and replaced them with contour 20s which is a much better well-balanced speaker than the special 40, does everything special 40 does without any of the drawbacks. Anyway I have had the RBH speakers sitting around for a while and I may as well make good use of them so I’m looking for a receiver to set them up in my bedroom. I will never drive them hard in my bedroom so I don’t think I need very much power to enjoy them, may eventually add a subwoofer but it’s not really on my radar right now. I was thinking the Yamaha WXC-50 but the RX-V4A is $100 less and supports WPAO and dual subs. I know the RBH is a ridiculously difficult load to run hard but I doubt it’ll ever make a difference for my application.

anyway, both of these seem to check all the boxes of doing everything. I keep looking at the used market at higher quality used components but I think I will just end up spending twice as much to make them stream and do everything.

this will strictly be a getting ready in the morning and dozing off at night system, not critical listening but I still want it to sound nice and be enjoyable.

Only concern about the RX-V4A is how difficult would it be to setup without a monitor?

The two channel stuff is often at a price disadvantage simply due economy of scale and never seems to actually get to avr usefulness. Don't know how much info/flexibility is provided with the panel lcd vs needing an external monitor....but not particularly hopeful if that's a particular selling point for you.

What about the NAD 3020 v2? I’m sure I can blow it up if I try but if it’s just for background music and quiet listening at night should it handle the RBH’s well enough?

For low level listening it'd work fine but at only 30wpc it is what it is. Another 2ch unit but more expensive that has more features/power would be the Yamaha R-N803....

Might also be a good idea if you don't need the latest/greatest feature set in an avr to look on craigslist for a used receiver/avr....

I think the winner is the Yamaha R-N303 at about $300.

I had just seen the R-N803 recently and forgot they had this one too....
I’d rather get the 803 but I can’t justify it for my application. It’s just going to be a streaming amp and I’m sure it’ll get louder than my bedroom will ever need.
