Jim Kaat, an MLB Network analyst and former major league pitcher of 25 seasons just couldn't think before speaking. From the article, "broadcast partner and former manager Buck Showalter praised Moncada's ability and said in jest, "Can we have one of those?" when referring to the first time Showalter saw Moncada play.

The 82-year-old Kaat responded with, "Get a 40-acre field full of 'em." "

Some people have an internal filter- this guy, not so much.

He was just a little off is all. Moncada is Cuban but most of "THOSE", as Showalter called them, are bred in the Dominican Republic now. Yeah, the only filter I'm interested in this morning is the coffee filter.

Iused to hang with some people in the past, who I no longer have any use for, since I no longer drink and can no longer stand what they have changed into. One time, a mutual friend came to town from out of state and one couple invited us to their house. I was asked to pick up one of the visitor's high school friends at the train station (he came to MKE from Chicago, so it was convenient for him) and as we were having a beer & hanging out, the wife looked at her hubby and asked "Is he our first?". The guy I had picked up at the train station is Black and she was referring to him, while he was there. He started referring to himself in the third person after he heard the question, which I couldn't believe she had asked.

Yikes. I use to work with some salty ol’ guys. Funny, skilled yet racist craftsmen who were not the least bit subtle about who and what they hated. I’ve heard ‘em all. It comes from a place of anger, fear and insecurity that gets pointed at all the wrong people. But, you can’t fix somebody else's issues. You can just use some of those comments, jokes and rants as examples of what NOT to do. The real joke is that people get outraged about what a silly ol’ guy said and have no issue with breeding ball players in a foreign land and shooting them up with steroids before they hit puberty.
