Needing some help with Denon dap 2500

There is a problem when connecting speakers. Have the same problem when using balanced outputs from back. There is no sound and there is a static noice.

Well, my first question is what digital source are you feeding into it? It sounds as if you have a major decoding error.

That unit is very old and not a lot of use as a digital preamp now. It can handle CD and DAT as PCM and that is about it. Modern units will sort out lots of digital streams.

Yes, source would help. Also note that in the manual it says at the beginning it could be prone to interference so don't place near tv or tuner and some other cautions. Also, was this unit known to work properly recently?

Yes, I'm using toslink from the tv. Could well be that it is getting interference because it was working before putting it on place. Thank you. Will try to fix it tomorrow and report back

You can download the manual at hifiengine.com if interested in reading more about their setup precautions. But if it worked before elsewhere and its near the tv now could be why the interference sounds but not particularly why you don't get audio particularly.....is your tv output set to pcm?
