For how much? Look nice. I see some but not lots of info on SP Revelation. What sort of info are you looking for?

I got them for $500 and from what i can tell it may be a steal. I am interested if anyone knows what they retailed for and what kind of amp would be recommend to drive these beasts.

There any further identification on the backs of the speaker cabinets? If you feel brave in taking things apart, details of each driver? The separate sub/bass cabinet and the quality of the woodworking sure makes $500 seem a very good deal, and bonus points for sounding good :). What amp do you have now?

So the suprises just keep on coming. I was brave and took the back off only to find unmarked speskers and what looks to be a porn magazine wedged in the bottom. Also, to add another wrench I found a price of $20,000 for SP revelation speakers.

you get a reply from another forum:

I'd say based on pictures alone and how the tweeter soundguide was carved, at $500/pr you get a serious deal.

One of my main concerns, it looks like there us no crossover, the speaker wires are haphazardly taped together, and the speaker wire is jist coming out of a hole in the back panel. Seems a little low budger for speakers that are supposed to cost so much.

No crossover is a major concern. So the drivers' wires are tapes together and at the back, all you got is pair of wires? or more than that?

hmm, I've looked closer and I don't see a tweeter driver, these look like a pair of full-range drivers wired together, in series possibly. In this case, the crossover isn't required, but I find it most unusual and possibly troubling.
Maybe someone else with actual speakers' design experience could chime in. Paging @TLS Guy

Yeah, it looks like someone was definitely tinkering around in there..unfortunately i don't have the expertise to go through it properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind putting some money into it if i can get a great set of DIY speakers out of the deal

I had a look at the pictures you posted and it does not look good inside, unfortunately. For one, the wires are spliced in several places. You have red, going to white, going to red, for no good reason. The lower wires are spliced as well and the tape job is absolutely horrible. No speaker manufacturer would tape wires that way. The other thing I noticed is that behind the wave guide in the centre, look carefully at the wood. There are mounting holes on the left and right side and there also appears to be a faint impression of something having been mounted in the centre position. If I had to guess, I would say that the tweeters and crossovers have been removed. Sorry for being so blunt. It will take some research to find out how these were originally constructed, but on visuals alone it looks like they have been modified, in which case the original value has been destroyed.

OK, I found an ad on Canuck Audio Mart here for the MR-I and MK-III. These have an external crossover which you seem to be missing. The crossover also means that those may not be full range drivers. In the ad it looks like there is a tweeter in the centre. Here is an image where it is pretty clear that there is a centre tweeter.

I think you'll need to do some research on some vintage speaker forums and find other people that own these speakers. They can tell what is inside their cabinets and maybe even supply schematics for the crossover if you are interested in restoring them fully. If the tweeter is missing, it may not be possible to find a matching one.

Hard to know if those are original drivers (or whether the speakers were ever worth $20k even new), but the lack of a tweeter and crossover aren't looking as good as the gal in the loungerie (lingerie?) taped into the bottom there....
