LG HDMI issues… I thought

Been banging my head against the wall since purchasing my HDMI 2.1 TV, biggest POS or so I thought. Anyway last night I was going through settings in my Marantz 5014 when I found “HDMI control” in the system settings of the receiver. I knew the TV had it but never occurred to check the receiver.

Anyway I hope my foolishness helps someone else avoid putting a remote through your tv.

Don't feel foolish, I ran into similar with a new Denon AVR.
Many others have as well, just lack your gumption to speak up.

But now I can get the HDMI handshake every time instead of turning the TV/receiver off and on multiple times hoping to get lucky.

I don't use ARC or need it for remotes....glad it resolved that issue for you though (wasn't sure just what it solved before).
