Can you use a 3.1.4 speaker configuration with Anthem AVM 70?

Yes.

It's a 15.2 channel. Any combination of channels up to 9.2.6 would work. So 3.1.4 is fine.

@Danzilla31 you can confirm? Believe OP has another avr that won't cooperate with this format.

@GAW at least IIRC that's the situation....what avr was the one that won't cooperate, tho?

I didn't have it set up that way but it's set up in my bedroom right now let me tinker and see what configurations I can come up with I'll get back to you guys Manana

He's wanting front 3 + subs + 4 heights am I correct

My problem was with Audssey forcing at least a 5.1.2. Anthem uses ARC. I hope that will be the difference.

Its likly a Dolby requirement and manufacturers of AVRs arent allowed to let users do 3.1.4, i may be wrong but Dolby is strict.

Did you try to connect 5.1.2 with the rearmost atmos speakers as the surrounds?

Yes, but Audssey will not run unless all the ceiling speakers are wired as surround. Then I have to go back and wire the fronts as Height 1 and run the Initial setup.
