I have a home office setup with Audioengine HD3 speakers and want to get a fuller sound. I had Polk Hampden speakers previously and have gotten used to the more bass heavy sound of those speakers. I'm thinking that adding a subwoofer would help to fill out the sound from the HD3s. I don't need anything big and would prefer something on the smaller side. The office is upstairs and my kids' bedrooms are right below, so definitely don't need anything that will shake the walls.
I'm looking at the Audioengine S8, Kanto Sub8, and Polk PSW111 and was hoping to get some advice on which to go for.
The Audioengine S8 says it has a bottom-firing and front-ported design. Does that mean more sound will travel downward? Not sure I would want that with my kids' bedrooms below my office. It's also the most expensive of the 3 choices.
