Most common brand speaker new home builders use in ceiling?

I have been browsing 10M homes now for quite some time now and it appears that many of the architects/builders use similar (if not identical) ceiling speakers in most of these monster home. They appear to be 6" or 8" looking at the images.

I'm curious what brand most builders select in these upscale homes? The layouts appear to be designed to accommodate ambient music (which is also what I am looking to achieve) and their white grills seamlessly blend into the ceilings.

PS: I am probably looking at 6" with frameless grill's. So if anyone has info on which are decent I'd appreciate it.

Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

First time I hear Bose - keep hearing C34E and DefTech. Thanks. I'm looking for straight down and frameless I guess.

Possibly Speakercraft. General contractors are not audio specialists. They'll use whatever looks nice but is not too expensive. The exception is when the home owner hires someone trained in home theatre setups or home automation to work with the contractor.

I'm sure they use whatever is the cheapest Far Eastern junk they can get their hands on.

One thing I would say, is that I would never trust any audio system installed by a builder, no matter what the cost. I would assume it to be junk, and start from scratch.

Speaker systems installed by builders are a well known detriment and to be avoided.

Asking what home builders use for audio is like asking what type of stone that contractors use when building roads. It is likely not an answer that matters to your specific installation or setup in any way at all, and you should be looking for a quality solution with a budget that is appropriate to your specific situation.

I strongly recommend Monoprice Caliber series in ceiling speakers in the 8" variety. In-walls are often more appropriate if it will be paired with television viewing.

They have models from under $30/pair and running upwards of $100 pair, but they don't have an incredibly huge sound difference. They all sound reasonable for in-ceiling speakers. On a budget, I've installed the 8" in-walls in some entry level theaters with very solid results.

In expensive homes they are most likely using Bowers and Wilkins.

If they're in the ceiling they're not much to consider in the first place....but doubt they're anything special.

If you are only after background ambient music just about anything will do.
If you also want to have these speakers for movies or TV with surround sound, then it is a different ballgame especially as you only want Atmos channel speakers in the ceiling.

I don't know. I got some speakercraft in-ceiling to complete my theater from someone who took them out of their house. The one's I got were around $500/ea MSRP so not cheap. Cost on them is silly though. The markup on Speakercraft is VERY high.

I was thinking not only the speaker itself but the location in general (probably more whole home type background music setup I assume).

Ah yes. That would be very true. Our builder told us about their whole house audio install and it was decent, but no care was taken for speaker placement at all.
