I’ve got 2 klipsch kg4 100watt 500 watt max 6 ohm and 2 klipsch RF62BK 125 watt 500 watt max 8 ohm speakers…my 22 yr old Sony receiver just died so I’m looking to purchase a new receiver I don’t use it with the tv just strictly music and a budget of $500 or less would like Bluetooth for my phone just as long as I can play music from my phone! Anyone have any suggestions because I’m totally wore out trying to understand all the ohms, watts, etc. I may be old but I still like to rock out! I’ve got an awesome set up in my car…all you youngsters out there it’s not against the law for us elders to listen to it loud! You’d be surprised at the looks I get.

I’m from Louisiana and I would love to see Cajun Elders cruising around getting the “Led”out.

Was the Sony quad capable or were you running 4 speaker stereo (2-channel sources only)? Just trying to see whether a 2-channel receiver with 2 pairs of speaker connections will do or whether it might make sense to get a 5.1 channel AVR and not use the center channel amp. Did you want an FM tuner as well or just an integrated amp and does it need a phono input to go along with the blue-tooth support?

An AVR makes more sense both money wise and future for capability.

What about watts? Do I need something putting out a 1000? 250? Remember I like it loud but clean!
I'll have to look up those speakers but Klipsch usually have a high sensitivity which relates to needing less power for same volume. The wattage rating on the speakers is just max power handling and not necessarily required power. The $500 budget will limit options but 125W can be loud with the right speakers. What model was the old Sony?
