Marantz 4400 + Pioneer CS-99 +?Subwoofer?

Hi, I recently purchased a Marantz 4400, and as it's in the mail on its way, I happen to run across the Pioneer CS-99's 10 minutes from my front door. I brought those home and connected them to an Onkyo 50w/ch purchased new 10 years ago, but the 99's, as talked about on may threads, just don't carry a lot of bass. I own a powered Dynaudio 250 SAT Studio Sub that was quite costly and it sounds great in combination with the 99's. When the Marantz gets here I would like to keep the Dynaudio connected if possible, and when another pair of 99's comes available near by, I'll scoop those up too and have four 99's in the corners of my listening space and the sub hopefully connected and tucked away. Any advice? I finally moved out of a tiny place and want to fill my new home with beautiful sounds!!!!!

Are you seting up the 4400 in the old quad format with appropriate source and room setup?

How are you integrating a sub with this stuff?

Hi Lovinthehd I'm open to using it in various ways. The main room is a large open floor plan 25'x25' vaulted ceilings and the plan is to have 4 speakers in the corners. For now it will need to be set up as 2 main speakers and a subwoofer. I was reading something about a line level converter... Im guessing with the quadraphonic set up I may have to forego the sub for that listening experience? But maybe you have suggestions? I believe I could do 4 speakers plus a sub, but would love some advice or suggestions.

Do you have any old quad source stuff to even bother with? I'd concentrate on 2ch otherwise unless you're just looking for higher volume playback.

Don't know why you need a line level converter but some subs can accommodate high level (i.e. speaker level) connections, altho old gear like that Marantz don't provide for bass management for a sub. I just don't get using the old Marantz receivers like that, got rid of mine ages ago, it just wasn't that good in a few respects. Specifics are important, so what speakers and what sub are you considering and why the ancient receiver?

Take a look at a mint condition Marantz 4400 wrapped in wood with its blue lighting and green oscilloscope, its gorgeous! The pioneer cs-99's fit the mid-century modern look. Its a design choice that also has a nostalgia from growing up with my dads Pioneer and marantz systems. He had a record shop and stereo speaker store in the 70's and had some great gear. It'll do the trick. Probably not going to mess with the quadraphonic source material, but ya never know. The sub is a Dynaudio 250 SAT

LOL sorry, had stuff like that when it was new. No desire. Do you actually have quad source vinyl/tt and/or tape?

Then it's just a glorified old 2ch setup without bass mangement. Just not that ideal. Just what are your goals for audio (or audio visual)?
