Hello all! My old little subwoofer (B&W ASW610) recently broke and I am in search for a new one. My room is 7 x 4 meters with around 3m ceiling. It is a living room with openings to the rest of the house. I know I will need a big sub to cover all this but budget is tight and honestly I dont mind if I dont get any reference sound, I need to feel the bass but not shake the house.
Options are limited here:
1) svs pb 1000 pro for 800euro
2) svs pb 2000 pro 1200euro
3) svs pb12NSD for 700euro.
The 3rd one Is an old model which the seller still has and willing to sell for that price (have no idea if the price is good or overpriced). I dont know which one is best for the money and which would be better fit for my space.
Dual subs is not an option (wifey reason)
Thanks in advance!
George

Some reason it's just SVS in the running? I'd prefer a warranty and the PB2000 but those prices, ouch. Would BK Elec or XTZ subs be a possibility for you? Don't know about their pricing but they're based in europe....

In my country there are not many sellers. I am in luck having a dealer representative for svs at least tbh. I havent checked those subs u mention yet to see if they can get shipped here but with shipment costs I dont know.

Given the size of your space (pretty large), openings to other home areas, and WAF limit of ONE sub . . . of the three listed options the PB-2000 Pro is the best choice, even if it is more expensive.

Neither the PB-1000 Pro, nor the older PB12-NSD will "cut the mustard".

Cheers,

The PB-2000 Pro is an excellent sub. I've been very impressed with might since I got it a few months ago.

But is 500 euro better than pb12nsd? Or even the pb1000 pro?

It's definitely very than the PB-1000 Pro because I have the original PB-1000. I'm using both in my home theater. I'm sure the Pro is better but I still doubt it's anywhere near the same league as the PB-2000 Pro.

That depends on how much the money means to you :)

Both the others are good subs, just not quite as good. Have you looked at the reviews here?

The SB version of the 12NSD was reviewed, but not the PB that I could see....

We can't decide that for you, but IMHO, yes it is worth it.
The key factor in my mind is the single sub limit. With that limit, I would go as big and powerful as the local market can provide.

The used NSD is tough to judge from afar; depends on age, use/abuse, and a detailed comparison of the specs.

Hi,

What's your max total budget?

Where can you buy from?

With your room size, I'd want two subs. I realize that's against your Wife's approval. But you simply cannot get total room coverage from one sub. It's literally calculable what your null will be. The second sub is to cover up that known calculable null. Two subs can provide an even response in the room. One sub simply cannot (even a big monstrous super sub, will have a null!).

Very best,

My budget would be around 800euro but I might be able to reach pb2000 pro money range if there isnt any other option. I am located in Cyprus

The PB12NSD is not used. Its a new or open box (will need to clarify) with full warranty

Surely there's local stuff that doesn't have to import from over the great pond.

HSU is not an option. Svs is, B&W is, havent checked other brands yet coz I dont know what models brands should I look for. i know that svs is excellent for its money so I assumed that would be a great option as I have a local shop located here and can have easy access for warranty

Don't know much about them other than they're european, but believe I've read several nice things in a few spots https://arendalsound.com (but don't see Cyprus on their country list).
