Yamaha Aventage RX A2A or Marantz SR015?

I have the Yamaha RX-V795A which I have had now for over 20 years and have been very happy with the Yamaha sound and DSP effects. Yamaha is the only brand receiver I have ever heard. I am in the market for a new receiver that will support 7.2 and 5.1.2 configurations. I am not familiar with the sound quality and effects of Marantz but heard very good things. I know there is a $300 price difference between the two and the Marantz supports 8K but I just bought an 85" 4K Sony TV. I also just bought the SVS PB3000 and am setting up my home theater room in my new house.

I would love people's advice, input that are familiar with both Yamaha and Marantz from audio quality, functionality, sound calibration with the subwoofer/speakers.

Thanks in advance.

In direct mode (no EQ, no DSP, etc.) you won't hear any difference in sound.

I've owned Denon/Marantz AVRs for like 20 years and now I own Yamaha. Both sound great.

So since you have heard both which one would you recommend? I spoke to a guy local to me that owns a home theater sales and installation business. He says he has been in the business for over 40 years and pushes Marantz. When I mentioned Yamaha ne says that he lists that as an option for lower end receivers to his customers and says that Marantz is very high end. I'm kinda a newbie but my ears like Yamaha and that is all I've ever known. I'm not necessarily married to Yamaha.

My $2600 MSRP Yamaha CX-A5100 pre-pro sound every bit as awesome as my $7500 MSRP Denon AVP-A1HDCI pre-pro.

My $2200 MSRP Yamaha RX-A3080 AVR sound every bit as awesome as my $5,500 MSRP Denon AVR-5308 AVR.

It matters EXACTLY ZERO percent to me which brand it is -Yamaha, Marantz, Denon - they all can sound EQUALLY amazing.

As far as other people’s opinions, take them with a grain of salt.

The reason I now use Yamaha is because I believe personally Yamaha has better reliability. The Yamaha WiFi remote app is 100% better. I love Yamaha MusicCast. In my own experience Yamaha’s HDMI worked better with some older components (cable box, DTV receiver, etc.).

But they are EQUAL in sound quality.

Thank you!!! Nuff said. I will stick with Yamaha and am waiting for the Aventage A2A to be available.

Marantz avrs aren't hi-end, they're mainstream if anything (which is generally a good thing for value). Denon and Marantz share a lot these days, too being sister brands (brother brands?). Pushing sounds about right, maybe higher profit margin :)
